The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Ford, and might I say one of the very few, has brought back a quintesential portion of the driving expierence. Bravo!

The 2005 Ford Mustang is the best example of retro style to come out of Detroit in ages. Agressive looks, a finely assembled interior, and an engine that can blow the doors off most other cars in its class. All I can say is...wait until the SVT Cobra comes out!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to breathe, Ford comes out with a mean, lean version of this baby boomer street machine - the Mustang. Congrats to Ford. Corvette look out - a wild horse is on the loose! I would recommend this car to anyone who is interested in an American car that is as much of an icon today as it was 40 years ago. Run with the Mustang.

The new mustang offers many options to a variety of drivers. The cars new design has a slightly retro look but still has the modern design of todays muscle cars. It rides like a dream, and has plenty of power. The car seems to handle great on any dry surface, however if you are on a wet surface the car does try to get away from you if you donot know how to handle the V8s raw power. it is a comfortable vehicle to drive and a wonder to own. i would rate it overall an 8.

  • I Love it! - 2005 Ford Mustang

This is the best car that I have driven in a long time. As the ad states: Get up and gone!" When you kick it and look in the rear view mirror the cars behind you are gone. The stereo in the car is like sitting at a concert. The Shaker 1000 is far superior over the Shaker 500. But with a base in the trunk the 500 sounds great! I highly recommend this car to anyone that wants a car that is "it". Its stylish, dependable, beautiful, and hard to drive anything else. Even my convertible Pontiac is not getting driven as much as it should because I have Mustang withdrawals when I am not driving it. I enjoy it so much that we bought a V-8 too. The downfall - cops pull you over so they can see it.

  • Best bang for your buck - 2005 Ford Mustang

I bought V6 5 speed red Mustang in 2005 and has 47k miles already. No mechanical/electrical issues. Cons: no real pick up in first gear, tires of low quality (poor track in winter/rain conditions), stereo of low quality (keeps the cds inside), some cabin noise, reverse shift difficult to engage, plastic interior of low quality, cupholders useless in current location, dings and bells for seat belts and other conditions extremely noisy and loud. Pros: almost everything else: design, speed, comfort (for 2 passengers of course), trunk space, fuel economy, reliability, etc.

The 05 Mustang convertible in dark red with tan leather and premium interior is a fun to drive beautiful all American "head turner". It handles and sounds great (for a V6) and its classic looks are terrific (I grew up in Detroit in the 70s, so I guess I am the target audience for the design, and they hit the target)

  • Splurge for the GT - 2005 Ford Mustang

I love my new Mustang, its a wonderfully smooth ride, its beautiful, it turns heads. It definitely goes when you hit the gas, but I think I should have paid for the extra 90 horsepower. The traction control is great when it kicks in and I do like playing with the MyColor feature. I find the Shaker 500 is an adequate stereo system -- I dont think the 1000 pays off. The seats and everything seem a little big at first for a female, but now its hard for me to drive my other car. So far the antitheft hasnt done anything, so I dont know much about that. I do love knowing how many miles per gallon I am getting and that sort of thing. Its a fun car- but get a GT.

  • Best Mustang we have ever owned. - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

My husband and I between us have owned at least 6 Mustangs prior to this one. This car out handles all of them. My husband has been even driving it to work in the snow with little difficulties. This is something that in the past required loading up the hatch area and praying for no stopping on hills. I never even test drove one and when we picked up the car it had the easiest clutch. It is a total joy to drive. We actually somewhat fight over whose turn it is to drive. Any friend we have let drive it says they now need to talk themselves out of buying one.
