The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

By Jonathan - March 9 - 1:44 pmIf Ford makes all future Mustangs live up to this one, you will always find me in the drivers seat of one. I fell in love with this design when I saw it unveiled in numerous magazines and auto shows. From an interior that leaves you feeling swaddled in comfort to the retro gauges that seem to smile when you take a seat and a beautiful body design, this car catches the very elements that an American muscle car should have attitude and appeal. The car is affordable and the performance is great. Space could be better, but works for a muscle car. Gas mileage is good considering V8 power and curb weight. Overall, kudos to FMC. This car has punched its ticket in the automotive hall of fame.

By Convert - March 6 - 9:20 amWow. This car pulled me out of my Mopars for the first time in my life (age 41). I have not liked Ford car designs for years now. Nothing excited me like this car (in this price range). I have the manual and the shifting is very smooth. For 300 hp I think the acceleration is poor but the sound is awesome. The sound is why I got the V8 over the V6. The handling is very "secure". The driving outputs match the inputs very well. The retro dash with MyColor is a great mix of new and old. I feel the 500 radio is more than enough for someone my age. Great convertible top seal so far. Low wind noise. Mentioned before on this site, this car sure does get looks! Screaming Yellow.

Downside, 4 out of 5 Ford dealers in Las Vegas are adding $3000 to MSRP and wont budge. Dealer 5 didnt play this loser game and I bought it! I drove the GTO 6.0 , but stuck with the GT Mustang, it just felt better and was more just what the doctor ordered. If you dont have one, you owe it to yourself to take a test drive.

The Return of The King - 2005 Ford Mustang
By jchiar - March 2 - 1:10 amGreat car. Use to own a 69 fastback and hated the designs of the Mustang ever since - until now. This years model is the best since then. It has classic styling, awesome performance and the best thing about it is that it is completely re-tooled. Which means it is not related to any of the 71-04 models. It gets looks wherever I drive it from all age groups. It has brought back my enthusiasm for the Mustang again. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Mine is a loaded GT premium - upgraded red leather, aluminum wheels, interior upgrade package, side airbags, alarm. The power, handling and build quality are great. I love this car!

By twallerste - February 11 - 11:46 amThis is probally the funnest vehicle I have ever owned, No matter who drives it in my family, even the biggest skeptic, they get back out of the vehicle with an ear to ear smile!! Although I never thought I would say this about any car, it was worth every penny! The only performance problem I have is that everyone on the road either slows down to look at you in the rear view mirror or they stay right beside you to look and you cant change lanes.

My First Mustang - 2005 Ford Mustang
By renetywang - January 18 - 4:00 amThis is my first Mustang and I have absolutely no regrets. From the first day to now, driving this car puts this huge grin on my face. I have driven Cobras with much more horsepower, but this car is much more of a blast to drive. I am amazed still by how well it handles but the muscle car rumble and power is definitely there. Five months later, this car still turns heads! The build quality is obvious inside and out. Although I baby this car; garage and not my everyday driver; its still cool that I have had absolutely no problems with her. This car loves to be driven fast, and the gas mileage is a surprise.

Ford finally turns heads - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Retro Stang Dun Rite - January 11 - 8:10 pmNew chassis, suspension and looks all done to perfection. Solid body doors/hood/trunk close with a thump and offers an extemely quite ride. Ride amazingly soft for sports car but plenty stiff enough for hard turns and braking. 4 discs are even, steady, smooth with no worry handling when hit hard. Dashboard all within easy reach, well organized. Love position/style (flat/round) turn & wiper levers (unique DOWN for mist & up for wipe). Hardly no blind spot (adjustable side mirrors). seat belts are comfy. "MUSTANG" cloth seats look better than they wear. Lots of front room. Gas mileage nice. Why 20 years for a new frame?
