Overview & Reviews
Heavily updated is the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, which makes 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque thanks to the addition of an Eaton supercharger. A new six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a 3.55 rear axle ratio. Larger wheels and tires come standard, along with stiffer springs and a tubular cross brace. Cobra convertibles have a cloth top, while both cars get new seats with upgraded leather and suede upholstery. A limited-production Mach 1 model arrives later in the year with a massaged 4.6-liter V8 engine making at least 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, a functional shaker hood with ram-air scoop, black striping, unique leather seating and retro-design Magnum 500 alloy wheels, and, of course, a Mach 460 audio system. Mach 1 can be ordered in a variety of colors with either a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Mustang Bullitt before it, the Mach 1 comes with a lowered, retuned suspension and additional frame rail connectors for a stiffer body. Large 13-inch Brembo front rotors and upgraded calipers are standard.
Standard V6 and V8 GT models change little for 2003. A V6 Pony Package includes 16-inch polished alloy wheels and the GT's scooped hood. All V6 models get a new hood design, and four new colors debut.
- Available V8 power, variety of trim levels, healthy dose of American attitude.
- Archaic structure, aged design.

Very fun Car - 2003 Ford Mustang
By Jared - July 15 - 1:12 pmI have owned this Mustang GT Black Convertible since 2003. It has never broken down or given me any trouble. First had it in Germany and I could set the cruise control for 110mph and it would ride steady. Added a set of flowmasters and K&N air intake and it sounds amazing. Trunk space is very small. One time something was placed in the back window and I put the top down and the window shattered- so be careful putting anything by the back window. Gas mileage is fair- about 250 miles on a 14gal tank (about 18 MPG). I could ride it a little easier but who really does. Seat head rests are too low if you are 6ft tall and a little uncomfortable if you are tall. Little back seat space. Fun, fun, fun.

Beauty And The Beast - 2003 Ford Mustang
By jscjarhead - June 19 - 11:06 pmIts great. I got it before I graduated. However I did the mpg myself and I found mine only got 18 mpg in the city. That might just be my Mustang though. Compared to other sport cars thats good. The comfort is great, I feel more comfortable in it than other cars. The car has great control and feels like Im going 20 when Im going 60.

Hums like a butterfly, stangs like a bee - 2003 Ford Mustang
By Debbie - May 30 - 10:58 amI love the ford Mustangs. I have had three different ones ranging from the 5.0 to the 2003. I cant keep from just looking at it and wanting to drive. I love the torque and the smoothness in the way it handles. I have had so may other sports cars want to race and my stang has never let me down. If youre looking for a car to look sweet in this is the one to have. I would recommend if you havent driven a standard you need to learn. They have so much more power and the rumble it makes is too sweet.

What a car - 2003 Ford Mustang
By Paul B - March 29 - 10:00 amTest drove about 8 performance cars and this car just fit me. Performance per dollar can not be beat. Mach 1s seats are some of the most comfortable I have set in. Ride is actually pretty good for the type of car. Rated at 305 hp, though most are getting much more when dynoing them. The car blew mw away.
