Heavily updated is the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, which makes 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque thanks to the addition of an Eaton supercharger. A new six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a 3.55 rear axle ratio. Larger wheels and tires come standard, along with stiffer springs and a tubular cross brace. Cobra convertibles have a cloth top, while both cars get new seats with upgraded leather and suede upholstery. A limited-production Mach 1 model arrives later in the year with a massaged 4.6-liter V8 engine making at least 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, a functional shaker hood with ram-air scoop, black striping, unique leather seating and retro-design Magnum 500 alloy wheels, and, of course, a Mach 460 audio system. Mach 1 can be ordered in a variety of colors with either a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Mustang Bullitt before it, the Mach 1 comes with a lowered, retuned suspension and additional frame rail connectors for a stiffer body. Large 13-inch Brembo front rotors and upgraded calipers are standard.

Standard V6 and V8 GT models change little for 2003. A V6 Pony Package includes 16-inch polished alloy wheels and the GT's scooped hood. All V6 models get a new hood design, and four new colors debut.

  This is a fun efficient yet sporty vehicle. While the comfort level on long trips is a little less than desirable the pros far out weigh cons. This car gets a lot of attention on the roadways but doent strap the bank account. NO COMPLAINTS and very low maintenance.

  This is a classy fun car that attracts alot of attention. My car is pretty basic but is still does the job. Ive enjoyed the sound system. Ive gotten ALOT of comments on my car Peolpe like how it looks. Iam pleased how it drives and it runs great in the mountains.Being able to put the top down and let the sunshine in really makes my day. I really enjoy my car.I feel Ford has put alot of effort into being sure I like my car. The dealership we used was awesome and quite helpful.The service dept. has been very helpful.

  Great vehicle if you love strong acceleration, distinctive styling with an affordable price! Best bang for the buck that I found in my pre-purchase search! "Shaker" hood is the source of many questions. Seats are best surprise -- supportive, comfortable, and stylish! My greatest concern is how to maintain the finish. The paint has "sworls" (sp?) and chips easily!

  Great car to look at---fun to drive as well. Lots of power, even on the v6. I have to say that there is one major issue, and it involves the cupholders. They are placed in a horrible spot--behind the gear shifter. So every time you go to change gears, your arm/elbow smacks the cup. I dont know how ford let this one fly.

  Why pay 50k, or 60K, or 70K-80K for the type of performance Ford sells for 34K- 38K. With a blistering 4.6 second launch from 0-60 you will be hard pressed not to grin all the way to where ever you are going. The Mustang is an American Legend and the 03 Cobra is the best Mustang built to date. Pure fun and comfort. Dont spend twice as much and get lack luster performance. A six speed supercharged 390 hp car with a factory warrenty is unbelieveable. Nothing Moves Like a Mustang :-)

  THIS CAR IS HEAVY DUTY! I LOVE THE CAR INSIDE AND OUT. THE AZURE BLUE COLOR REALLY ATTRACTS ATTENTION. SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE AND, THE POWER DRIVERS SEAT IS EXCELLENT. THE CAR HANDLES GREAT AND HAS A RIDE SMOOTH ENOUGH TO USE AS AN EVERDAY DRIVER.

  This car has so much power. Press the pedal to WOT and your head is snapped back into the headrest. If you buy this car you cant go wrong. It is a lot of bang for the buck. Way to go Ford you have a real winner here.

  I have owned a Cobra since 02 and it is the fastest street car under 42K. I professionally race this car and drive it on the street. It will run the 1/4 mile in the high 10"s on a performance tune and run high 11s on a street tune. It is awesome on the highway. I was given the name ZO6 Killer because I beat so many ZO6s at the track. It cruises and tracks well. My tune reached 650+ RWHP on the dyno. I have had many cars and this car is one of my best. I also have two late model Mercedes, and a 07 Chevy Malibu. I know a good thing when I see it. The 03 SVT Cobra is one of the best ever for the money.
