This Year's Model Updates:

The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Things that I would change for the 2006 model: 1.The drivers seat is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever had in a car. Should be wider and more comfortable. I had to put a cushion on the seat. 2. Gas tank is too small; should be at least 20 gallons. You are at the gas station every time you go some place. 3. Stationary antenna should be a retractable one. 4. Passenger seat should have the option of having power so you can raise the seat. Its like sitting in a hole. Its too low. 5. There is no storage space accessible from the drivers seat. After you put a few CDs in the console you dont even have a place to put a map.

I could never have imagined how many heads this vehicle has turned. Though it is a convertible it is really quiet inside with loads of muscle when I need it. Ford got this one RIGHT.

Have had other convertibles in the past - this one is by far THE most fun to drive! Exterior is stylish with that retro feel. Interior is more comfortable than I expected (unless you are in the rear seat). Car is surprisingly quiet even when driving with the top and all windows down - you can actually hold a normal conversation. Engine is strong and transmission is smooth ( 5 speed automatic). While cruising the engine is pretty quiet - when you step on the gas youll hear that throaty rumble that lets you know whats under the hood. This car really is a blast to drive.

  • Man, What a ride - 2005 Ford Mustang

I have had my 2005 GT for three months and 6500 miles, and man what a ride. This is my fourth Mustang, having had a 67, 69 and 74, this is by far the best. I live on the north coast of California, The roads here are built for this car, lots of curve and twists along Highway 101 and through the redwoods put this car to the test and man, what a ride. I recently took a trip to San Francisco and got 23 miles to a gallon, and I was not driving slow. In and out of traffic the car is a blast to drive and it does get a lot of looks and thumbs up from folks along the way. Would recommend this car to anyone who takes pleasure in driving.

  • A real head-turner! - 2005 Ford Mustang

I have owned mine for one week now, and the car is absolutely fantastic. I was surprised to find that, at 64" tall, I fit very comfortably behind the wheel of this Mustang. Fit and finish are excellent and the V6 with 5- speed automatic is smooth with plenty of power. I am amazed at my gas mileage so far, averaging 20 mpg around town, and 26 mpg on long highway trips. Thats a little more than the EPA ratings. Im turning heads everywhere I drive it, too!

Mustang handles excellent. 6 speed manual engages easily. Pick up phenomenal. Convertible easy to put up and down. Ride is easy and comfortable for a sports car. Looks great too!

  • Oh yeah! - 2005 Ford Mustang

Price + Performance = amazing results. Other cars might go faster but they also will drain your 401k. This Mustang will keep up with the bad boys while the kids sleep in their car seats in the back. Comfort, styling, price, power and oh yeah, a sound system that will blow your ears off.

  • Ford did it RIGHT - 2005 Ford Mustang

The 2K5 GT is awesome! Power is great, but it is easily manageable on the street; handling is superb for a conventional rear axle. It is a very modern vehicle with a well done retro look. I fell for the look when I first saw it, and knew I had to have one when I drove it.

Ford finally got the Mustang right this time. Excellent car to drive and a lot more comfortable than my old 2000 GT.

  • Cant beat it - 2005 Ford Mustang

Excellent exterior design. Windveil blue is the coolest color. Gets up and goes with great handling. Shaker 500 CD system is awesome, although loading the CDs into the 6 CD changer is confusing and slow. Only beef on interior is central column kind of hits against my right leg. Mine doesnt have MyColor or trip computer. : (
