This Year's Model Updates:

More features are added to the 2008 Ford Mustang. This includes standard front seat side airbags, available xenon headlights and, for the V6 models, 18-inch alloy wheels. Those who have a thing for pink should be thrilled with the new Warriors in Pink package that provides their ride with that color's accents inside and out. Sales of this package also help support the Susan G. Komen cancer charity.

Pros:
  • Powerful performance in V8 versions, eye-catching retro styling inside and out, friendly ergonomics.
Cons:
  • Stability control not available, dollar store interior plastics, seats lack sufficient lateral support for enthusiastic driving.

  • Great car but squeaks and groans - 2008 Ford Mustang
    By -

For the money this has to be the best performance car available today. This is my second Mustang and when it comes to performance it really screams while delivering great fuel mileage from regular gas. It handles very good and actually is very comfortable on long trips. It does have a fault however. The gearshift lever vibrates and resonates when accelerating which takes away from the otherwise pleasant experience. It also has periodic squeaks and rattles from the front that just can not be found. Drives me crazy and the dealer can not find or even agree that the sounds exist. Ford needs to fix this, my 88 Mustang had none of this noise and it was on a worse platform?

  • Awesome in Theory - 2008 Ford Mustang

The GT is an awesome design. IMO, its the sexiest car on the road. It seems well built, very solid, and decently comfy. Interior layout could be more ergonomic, and needs a storage tray. Engine has lots of grunt, but the car seems too heavy to be truly fast. Still, plenty of fun to drive. However, while its a cool ride, it seems very prone to manufacturers defects in the drive train. Over the past 2 months, its been in the shop for nearly 30 days, and both the transmission and rear end assembly have needed replacement. Car is entirely too new to have so many problems. I plan on sending the GT back, and I wont be getting another.

  • First American Car - 2008 Ford Mustang

Ill start by saying that the largest engine Id ever had on a car before was a 2.0l Golf and I thought that that was obscene. Im European, we pay close to $9 for a gallon of gas, were used to being frugal. But Im loving the Mustang. Sure theres an annoying leather on leather buzz from the manual stick shift and a really annoying creak from the left a pillar but it looks great, cruises like a dream and the Shaker 500 system is great I even manage an average of 26mpg (75 - 25 highway - town) so Im far from disappointed with this

  • Old guy car nut - 2008 Ford Mustang

Have owned 40 automobiles and am a professional engineer. I am an official car nut. This is a beautiful automobile, California special. But, if you are 60 years old this car will beat you up when driving our poor roads and I drive 40k per year. Am going back for an Edge. Ford has improved drastically. Had previous SHO and station wagon and piece of junk. These are high quality. Would recommend this car, but only for those who can put up with the "boy-racer" situation. Ford should be commended for their improvements.

  • Very reliable! - 2008 Ford Mustang

I bought my 08 in 2012 with 75,000 miles. The previous owner must have driven a lot but even though the high miles, my car has never let me down. Its 2016 and the car still works great. Ive kept up with its oil changes, and minor maintenance and my Mustang keeps running without trouble. Ive replaced the alternator, tie rods, sway bar links, shocks, struts and tires and of course the battery. I drive this car daily and it still amazes me at how great it handles. As of today my car has about 110k miles. Any time I get in it I can feel sure that it wont let me down. I always brag to friends of how reliable the car is. I over paid for the car but at least I can say I havent put money into it. The only downside is the interior. The door vinyl panels have started to come off. Ive tried to glue them back but with the Texas heat, they come back off. Also the cloth on the seats isnt all that great. I have 2 kids in the back and with their shoes and spilling foods, the cloth on the seats looks faded.
