Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Legend GT lives! - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Legend GT - December 23 - 10:03 amAll I can say is,what a fun car to drive! I have been driving this car for over a month now and it is simply exciting. The power, the sound of the throaty exhaust, the braking, the handling, just the total package. It also does fairly well on gas mileage; 19-21mpg isnt too bad for a 300 horsepower engine. Ford really did their homework on this car. The ride isnt bad considering the tire size and suspension set-up. I opted for the 5 speed transmission and Im glad. It is so much fun shifting. The shifter has real short throws. Talk about head turning! I get stares everywhere.

Just like old times.....only better - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Phil - December 2 - 6:56 pmHaving owned a 66 Mustang and a 73 Mustang, when I first saw the pictures of the 05 in a Northwest Airline magazine a couple of years ago, I was intrigued. When I finally saw one in person in October of 04, I was hooked. I ordered a Legend Lime Metallic 6 cylinder/5 speed for my wife for a surprise 40th birthday present. We had to special order the car, and it didnt make it in time for her birthday, but it was well worth the wait. Surprising torque for a 6, great manual tranny, fairly comfortable interior, even with our 11 and 10 year old daughters in back, great handling for a live rear axle car, and those looks....oh, those looks. Not a car to own if you want to be incognito.

2005 Mustang V-6 Premium - 2005 Ford Mustang
By captnfred - October 28 - 5:46 pmWhile the 2005 Mustang V-6 is no GT Muscle Car, it is a great bargain, has adequate power, is very quick and handles like a sports car should. The Premium version with leather has a classic interior thats comfortable and sporty. The car is rock solid with no rattles or creaks. The Shaker 500 sound system is OK but could use more midrange. Great ride for the price.

Love this car! - 2005 Ford Mustang
By UMSuperfan - October 19 - 8:16 amAfter waiting two extra months for the car to arrive from when Ford told me to expect it, I was worried I would be disappointed. I am not! This car is everything I could have wanted. I get looks from all kinds of people and the power is amazing. It sticks to the road through turns and even in rain. Everyone wants rides.

My second Mustang - 2005 Ford Mustang
By John Adelsberger - October 19 - 8:06 amI cant begin to tell you how incredible the experience has been since buying my 05 Mustang. Not one day has passed that hasnt included at least 2 people coming up to tell me how "hot" or "awesome" this black beauty looks. The new design meets all the expectations that were put out before its arrival, and the performance of the new 200 hp engine is more than enough for city driving. Its almost embarrassing to drive because it turns heads wherever I go. Truly awesome and a dream come true. Thanks to all the Ford designers who are responsible for this MASTERPIECE!

very well done - 2005 Ford Mustang
By ed - October 14 - 10:13 amThe car is a joy to drive. Power is very good for a car this size. The exhaust note from the 4.0 six cylinder gives the impression (from inside) that there could be a v8 under the hood. The styling is unmistakable, it says "MUSTANG". If you do not like to get looks or stares, do not buy one. Overall I would give the MUSTANG a 9.

Yah Baby! - 2005 Ford Mustang
By MyxMach1 - October 10 - 8:00 pmAfter a four month wait I got my Stang. Have not had one in 20 years and what a car! I drive semi-performance autos and this Mustang GT blows them away. I am used to twice the price tag and Id give the others away to keep this car. My Dad was with me to take delivery. He ordered the brand new 64 Mustang and waited over 4 months for his back in the day. He also worked as a Ford product specialist (trainer) for some time and has many track days under instruction. I let him drive back :-).
