The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

  • Best car ever owned! - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

The car even at idle sounds great, but punching this thing is a pure adrenaline rush. It pushes hard, but is very confident. The looks are striking, especially with the red leather interior, and I always get thumbs up from people I pass up. Even in the parking lot tons of people come to look at the car. This car is really impressive. I have the manual, and it is very forgiving. Even at 400rpm the engine still turns, and you dont have to switch gears near as much as a small engined car. Seats are VERY comfortable, the mycolor feature is cool, and the shaker 500 system sounds great. MPG isnt that great, but you cant expect much for a car with this much grunt. Wont trade for nothing.

I pulled off the lot w/ one of the 1st 05s in southern california and am happier than expected. This car blows away my previous 2 mustangs w/ comfort and performance.. I highly recommend!!

  • The pony is back! - 2005 Ford Mustang

This is the best mustang released to date. While keeping its muscle car prowess, the mustang has improved greatly on creature comforts and handling. I look foward to seeing some of the special packages they come out with like the Mach-1 or the rumored Shebly.

  • Very Satisfied - 2005 Ford Mustang

Ive only had my Mustang (Premimum V6) for two weeks and have totaly enjoyed it. I took a 500 mile trip, secondary roads and interstates, the second day I owned it, got 25 miles per gallon. I am very satisfied with the performace. The seating position is comfortable (Im 510"). The ride is very good at highway speeds. Very little wind noise. Transmission shifts very smoothly. The only real gripe I have is that the engine is little buzzy at low speeds (25 to 35 mph) before car warms up. I am very satisfied with the car.

I love the vehicle with three small exceptions. Two weeks after I took delivery one of the center caps flew off on the expressway. I ordered a new one from the dealership and its been one week and it still isnt in. The second is the drainage set up around the deck lid. It drains down between the body and the back of the taillight and takes all the debris with it. Im talking leaves, etc. I also think the shoulder harnesses could be more comfortable. They seem to catch everyone across their neck. Those are very small items and Id recommend this car to anyone looking for something fun to drive. It turns a LOT of heads and is a real conversation starter with strangers!

  • Made M3 owner Jealous! - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

This is my third GT convertible, not counting my wifes. Theyve gotten a little better each change up to this one - its a major upgrade. The build quality, interior, comfort, interior noise, stereo, shifting, clutch, steering, handling, power, function, character and overall fun level are on par with anything for twice (thrice?) the price. The coup de gras was a coworker with an M3 saying he was jealous! And, if he offered a trade, I wouldnt take it! There is no nav option - wouldnt fit the character of the car anyway - but every creature comfort is there. Press on the throttle, or take a turn off faster then you should and you get to what makes this car great to own and drive.

  • By Far The Most Fun Ride I Have Ever Had - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

This new Mustang out shines them all. Its performance and handling is definitely outstanding. It has tight steering which works very well with the speed factor. Not a thing like the 1995 Mustang I owned. My husband couldnt even fit in that one and is very comfortable in this one. Ford definitely out did themselves this time. They didnt cut any corners on this beautiful and fast machine! Just go take a look at one for yourself and test drive it. I cant imagine anyone thinking any different. By far the best and the price is remarkable for what youre getting.

  • An American classic is back! - 2005 Ford Mustang

My new Mustang V6 performs very well and above my expectations. The acceleration is very impressive for a 210-horse V6 and the exhaust sounds great. The brakes are comfortably responsive and perform as sports car brakes should. Handling is not as quick as a 350Z or a couple other Japanese sports cars, but I realize that my Mustang is larger and heavier than those cars. The automatic transmission shifts quickly and with ease. The ride is comfortable, but Im reminded on long trips that Im driving a sports car and not a luxury car. The rear seats are typical of Mustangs and are somewhat comfortable as long as you are 510 or less. I am very happy with my purchase of the 2005 Mustang V6!

  • Get Your Kix in a new Mustang GT - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

When the new GT came out, I just wanted it and ordered one. Never before had I even driven a Mustang. The day the dealer called to say my car had arrived, I expected the courtesy van to pick me up. Instead, the sales guy picked me up in my new car. When he pulled up, I fell totally in love with it. In Windveil Blue with the five spoke competition style wheels (the "boy wheels" my friends and I say), the car is fabulous looking. I am astounded by the attention it attracts. On a daily basis strangers in cars and on foot express how they love the car. If you want attention, dont get a Ferrari, Mercury or BMW. Get a new GT and rediscover the fun of driving.
