This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

  • Fun to drive - 2006 Ford Mustang

I bought this car in Sept. of 05 and have only put 700 miles on it, but what fun miles theyve been! Best bang for the buck by far. Handling, acceleration, braking and that infectious eye appeal are just some of the highs youll have while driving this all American beauty.

This car is the most exciting fun vehicle I have ever owned. It turns heads with its styling and not only performs well off the line and accelerating at higher speeds as well as taking off ramps, but also with the fantastic sound system!

  • Built on the cheap - 2006 Ford Mustang

The 2006 Mustang must have been built with cost the most important item. It has no under hood light, foot well lights or daytime running lamps. Small items to be sure but should not add to the total cost. The five speed transmission does not shift smoothly. Was told by the dealership that nothing could be done.

  • My favorite car ever. - 2006 Ford Mustang

The 06 Mustang we just bought on 4/22/06 was the best investment Ive made in a long time. We had an 04 and traded it in for this 06. I love the handling ability and the power of this V6. It has that old car feel to it. Drives like one too, only smoother. The stylish interior is so close to the old 67 that it just makes me want to sigh every time I step into it. I got the Tungsten Grey with the Charcoal leather interior. The Shaker500 stereo system and the Pony package just put icing on the cake. I recommend everyone to go out and test drive one of these beauties. DO IT!

I have my 1st car, a 68 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT that I have owned for over 30 years, Black, dual quads, Cragars, Goodrich TAs, all the usual suspects. It turns heads every where I go but, as for driveability it gets a D-. The only thing keeping from getting an F is it does go straight really well. Now I have my Mustang GT (also black) and it turns heads equal to the Cougar but now I can actually take a corner at speed without fear of sliding into the road shoulder, Oh, it also goes straight really well! You can imagine my dilemma when the sun does make its rare appearances (I live in Oregon) on which car to drive. People tell me all the time "Saw you in your car today and youre still smiling."

The GT has been a very fun car to drive. I really like the retro look to the GT, I only wished it had the retro side scoop. It has a lot of power and performance for the dollar. By far the best muscle car fro the money!

  • THIS PONY ROCKS by Sean - 2006 Ford Mustang

My 06 GT is Redfire/Black interior and 18" polished aluminum Bullets. This is my 5th Mustang since 1982 and by far it out performs all the others. To date, I have 8500 problem free miles on this pony. I added the Homelink rear view mirror, trunk cargo divider, window tint, nad XM radio. I consistently average 19 MPG city (without A/C) and up to 26 MPG level highway at 70 MPH. This is a "creature-comfort" Mustang...unlike the past Mustangs. The looks and questions I get in parking lots and traffic? Constant! Interesting note - night driving with fogs on attracts oncoming high beam flashers. All-in-all, if youre thinking of buying one? Do it! BOLD MOVES...YEAH!

We havent had the car long, but it looks great and runs like the stallion that it is. The interior is much quieter than I expected based on reviews (unless you are in the throttle). I am fitting two kids in the back seat ... tight fit but they love cruising with the top down.
