Overview & Reviews
For the 1999 Ford Mustang, Ford gives its sports car fresh styling and more motor. The 3.8-liter V6 engine makes 190 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. The SOHC V8 found in GT models gets an 16-percent increase in horsepower. Improvements to the V6 and GT suspension and steering gear, as well as a styling update.
- The 1999 Ford Mustang is faster, roomier and more capable than last year.

Some win some lose - 1999 Ford Mustang
By Hoosierdaddy - November 1 - 2:00 amWhen buying a used car, or any car, some people get good ones some get bad. I know several people who are happy with their mustang (v6) and dont have any problems. I however had problems. The exhaust manifolds went bad twice, but were covered under warranty. After the warranty expired, at about 45,000 miles the transmission started slipping when you tried to accelerate hard, and the valves started to make noise. The dealership told me that the valve problem is common with the V6. It cost around $500 to fix. The top did make some noise around 48,000 miles but it was an easy fix.

Great Car - 1999 Ford Mustang
By rashad - September 17 - 2:00 amGreat car if you can afford the insurance and dont have children. Not a lot of room to haul anything, so dont plan any trips with more than two lightly packing adults.

Coopers Mustang Review - 1999 Ford Mustang
By cooper - September 3 - 2:00 amI bought the Mustang used in 2000. The Ford had 18,000 miles on it and I ran the total to 56,000. I have not had a single problem in the 38,000 miles and the 2 years Ive owned the car. Handles as good as it looks. Impressive!

Buy with Caution - 1999 Ford Mustang
By Phoenix30 - July 31 - 2:00 amThis is not a vehicle to buy if you have no other mode of transportation. It handles beautifully in ideal conditions (i.e. dry roads) but is truly awful in all others. If you tend to punch the gas on take off, as I do, the tires will just spin if the road is anything but perfectly dry. Even with an extra 280lbs. in the trunk, it handled like a bobsled in the rain or snow.

Great bang for the buck!! - 1999 Ford Mustang
By 99GTdroptop - June 3 - 2:00 amGreat overall car. You get a great looking car, tire smoking power, all the options plus more, and a convertible for a great price. Wish they changed the interior a bit more (from the previous 94-98 Stangs) to give it that "new" feeling but all the controls are easy to use and access so its not too big of a deal. The new exterior took a bit of getting used to when they first came out but I love it now. You definetly get a lot of looks and nice comments. Also handles good and fuel economy is what you would expect from a V8 sports car.

My GT - 1999 Ford Mustang
By Joe Zitelli - May 20 - 2:00 amVery nice car. Great Acceleration, Very good handling, Very Good Brakes. Interior could use some leather on the door trim and better padding on arm rest. Other than that, very solid car. Seats are somewhat uncomfortable on long drives

Good Ride - 1999 Ford Mustang
By Garry - April 29 - 2:00 amStill runs good no problems with engine. Had to replace front pads and rotors at 23000. Cloth seats need to be a more durable, drivers side shows ware. Base modle needs 16" wheels. Still looks good, as of yet not dissapointed I bought one.

99 2DR Standard Mustang - 1999 Ford Mustang
By Cyndi Kreiner - April 9 - 2:00 amIve had an excellent experience with my Mustang. Its been exceedingly reliable and has required very little maintenance. In 49,000 miles and "check-ups" every 3 months, Ive only needed oil changes, tire rotations and air filters. On the down-side, its obviously terrible in snow and ice. However, the traction control makes a huge difference. Ive never been stuck and Ive driven in a lot of snow living in Northern Ohio and Michigan.
