Overview & Reviews
The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

Second Childhood - 2006 Ford Mustang
By MarkO - March 6 - 2:10 amOnce owned 68 Firebird convertible and recently turned 40 and couldnt resist. This is a nice and fun reproduction of the original. I bought the Pony Package V6 convertible in Windveil Blue and am very happy with it. A good value vehicle for the money.

Could use a few tweeks - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Jim Myers - March 3 - 6:26 amGreat fun car. Vastly improved handling over the 03 I test drove a few years back. Power and sound is good. This is my first Mustang and I have enjoyed it. I am 60 years and have owned Corvettes in the past. This car compares favorably for a lot less money. I wish I had deleted the spoiler as it interfears with visibility. I would rate the gas mileage as very good for a car with this kind of power. I am getting better than 18 MPG in stop and go traffic. I have the 18" wheels and believe that ride quality would be improved with the 17 s. Overall I like the car very much.

Best Mustang Ever - 2006 Ford Mustang
By rocketman - February 11 - 6:30 pmVery fast for a V6, feels very safe to drive. I was skeptical about purchasing a Ford but this car is a definite exception.

Just makes me smile! - 2006 Ford Mustang
By ed - January 5 - 11:46 pmAt 57 years old I have had a lot of cars. But this is the first one in a long time, that every time I get in I smile. It is a blast to drive. I feel like I am a kid again. It holds the road like its on tracks and the V-6 has plenty of go. The interior, for a small car, fits like a glove. No matter where I go I get nothing but stares.

Hot ride - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Rick - November 22 - 7:43 pmI love this car. I used to have a 67 Fastback GT 390ci back in the day. Just had to have this one. Over all great car. However, there is a lot drive train clunk at lower speeds. Excellent customer service.

Fun Car - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Megan - October 30 - 7:13 pmI have had this car for about 4 months. I just started college, and I use the car for my 6 hour drive to and from school. It makes the drive pretty well. However, when I am in the passenger seat during the drive, I get annoyed with the way the dash is set up. Its hard to put your feet up. Also, the seat doesnt recline very far. The seats are very comfortable though. I am always cold and my boyfriend is always hot, so I really like how easy it is to close the vents on one side of the car. I just had to replace the gear shift at 15,000 miles. I would like a larger back seat, but its as big as would be expected for a Mustang. Its hard to get in and out of because of the long doors.

By Dan F - September 16 - 2:16 amWe got this car a week ago and could not be happier.Thought about the V6 but then drove the GT, WOW! The power, the handling and the ride are all impressive. Went with the five speed and I love it. Got the Redfire with the light parchment leather, BEAUTIFUL. Get the GT!

Dream car revisited - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Kimberly - August 28 - 2:30 amBought the Mustang for looks and performance. Not disappointed with handling, acceleration, and oh the sound! My only two complaints...the seat belt "receiver" is hard to reach and the interior easily scratches.

One Fun Car - 2006 Ford Mustang
By cmyrick - August 9 - 8:10 amMy first car was a 67 Mustang so the first time I saw a 05 GT, I knew I would own one. My only regret is not waiting for the GT 500. I have already upgraded my suspension from Ford Racing and plan to upgrade the exhaust and put on headers next. Next year the supercharger goes in. It wont quite be a 500 with a 4.6 vs the 5.4, but the Miller Track in Utah is sure going to be fun. I would recommend this car to anyone that likes a little muscle.
