Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Worth The Wait - 2005 Ford Mustang
By njlime - December 28 - 7:26 amWaited 3 months, but it was well worth the wait. I ordered without having driven a GT or a convertible. I am thrilled. The car is comfortable, powerful, & looks terrific. The exhaust sound is almost worth the price by itself. I get stares wherever I go. Ford has done a tremendous job on the Mustang at realistic prices. The interior upgrade package does a decent job of minimizing the plastic look & feel of the cockpit, although I would have been willing to spend a bit more for a little more luxury inside & a passenger seat with power controls.

Its the Best Stang Ever! - 2005 Ford Mustang
By JeffL - December 23 - 12:39 amFord outdid themselves. This car is awesome. Ive owned quite a few Stangs since "65" and this is the best looking and performing. It turns heads and is a blast to drive. Its a little crowded for carpooling, but my carpoolers love it. I cant wait to drive it everyday. The only thing I would suggest is an inside trunk release and optional fog lights for the V6. The cars got some serious power for a six and gas mileage is pretty good. The auto tranny slips on occasion, but dealership told me thats normal. Ill get it checked at a different dealer. You got get yourself one of these!

Nice car - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Mike - December 21 - 6:45 pmThe Mustang is a nice car! Price to performance ratio is very good and Ford has done many things right. That said, there are some annoying things about this car that Ford needs to clean up (see suggested improvements).

05 MUSTANG GT AFTER 1 YEAR - 2005 Ford Mustang
By B MARTIN - December 20 - 4:38 pmAfter having my Mustang for a year, the only complaint I have is the weather in Ohio. I would love to live somewhere I could drive my Mustang all year. Every little jaunt is fun because this car is so fun to drive. The Shaker 1000 rocks! The looks are awesome. Nobody will mistake a Mustang for a jellybean clone Grand Am.

05 Mustang V6 - 2005 Ford Mustang
By t3w - December 20 - 10:00 amJust bought an 05 Mustang V6. Power is adequate, nothing eye-brow raising but will do the job. My guess is the GT with the V-8 will be much stronger. However, the V-6 does the job! Styling is nothing short of outstanding. Ford really got it right this go-round!!! Nice unexpected feature... power windows now have "auto-up" as well as down. Bounce back feature prevents closing on an arm or hand, etc. Rear seating might be about an inch more than 04, and remains very unuseable except for small kids or small adults on a short trip. Not a concern for me, as I dont think Ill ever be back there!!! Head-turning quotient... unreal. Until more of these hit the streets anyway!

Mid Life Crisis - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Lou - December 19 - 8:16 pmWhen I decided to have a mid-life crisis, this car was the ticket. I was a teenager during the 70s, when everyone wanted one of the "cool" Mustangs from the 60s. I have driven many of these over the years, and until now, did not realize what I was missing until I got the 2005 model. I cant believe how wonderful this car performs, and how much attention it gets everywhere I go. My daughter even used the line of "they pimped my ride" the first time she sat in the car. Pretty good feed back from someone who is 13 going on 30. So far no mechanical issues, and 24 mpg combined mileage. The torque is great and the engine just pulls the car without effort at 70 mph.

I finally own one - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Mark - December 17 - 10:46 amI havent been in the Mustang market for years. After the 60s and early 70s they seem to have lost their appeal (to me anyway). I have the V-6 premium fully loaded, black with red leather interior. The new style brought me back. I am very happy with the purchase -- so reasonably priced.

I Love This Car - 2005 Ford Mustang
By LOTTOPOP - December 14 - 6:22 pmThis car is an absolute kick! Ive had several Lincolns (T-Cars & Mark 8s & Sebring convertibles), & this car is my true favorite. Its quick & classy, and a ton of fun to drive. I cant wait for spring to drop the top. I had it down on day #1, & hated to put it up but ... I live in Chicago.

65 to 05 stang.... - 2005 Ford Mustang
By M. Rieffer - December 14 - 12:09 pmMy driving review is sort of biased as I buy mostly Ford products because I have mostly good experience with the vehicle and the dealers I have visited. The Mustang is reminiscent of another era in my driving experience. It is safer and more reliable that the cars of the 60s, but reminds me of them. I have a 1965 Mustang and it is neat to have them side by side and 40 years apart.
