Heavily updated is the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, which makes 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque thanks to the addition of an Eaton supercharger. A new six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a 3.55 rear axle ratio. Larger wheels and tires come standard, along with stiffer springs and a tubular cross brace. Cobra convertibles have a cloth top, while both cars get new seats with upgraded leather and suede upholstery. A limited-production Mach 1 model arrives later in the year with a massaged 4.6-liter V8 engine making at least 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, a functional shaker hood with ram-air scoop, black striping, unique leather seating and retro-design Magnum 500 alloy wheels, and, of course, a Mach 460 audio system. Mach 1 can be ordered in a variety of colors with either a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Mustang Bullitt before it, the Mach 1 comes with a lowered, retuned suspension and additional frame rail connectors for a stiffer body. Large 13-inch Brembo front rotors and upgraded calipers are standard.

Standard V6 and V8 GT models change little for 2003. A V6 Pony Package includes 16-inch polished alloy wheels and the GT's scooped hood. All V6 models get a new hood design, and four new colors debut.

  The 2003 Mustang is truly a fun car to drive! Even with the automatic V6, Ive got plenty of pick up for highway driving. Mine is a real head-turner in bright red.

  The Cobra is the best bang for the buck anywhere...plus its all American. Mild if you want, Wild if you want. The only V8/stick/conv on the market - can take the family with you! I think well always have one from here on.

  The V8 has plenty of pop and you get good gas mileage(Depending on how hard you want to drive it). Its the best car for your buck. 05 will be coming out next year and hope it lives up to the Mustang standards.

  If youre in the market for a new Mustang get the GT. The additional money spent is well worth it. The cars ride is smooth. Those that say it isnt must have gone from an Accord to a Mustang. I traded in a 2002 Explorer Sport and the ride quality is much better in the Mustang. Passing in traffic is nothing less than confident. Where else can you spend around 24-25K and get a kick-in-the- pants acceleration. Plus, the aftermarket parts choices are near endless. A supercharger, exhaust and some cosmetic work will be done in the future.

  for a price of 35,000 (with a plan) how could you go wrong. this car pulls real hard through the first gears, while almost all street cars fall behind after the first two. a fun suprise for all those fast and ferrious wanna be cars.

  Ford finally put the "muscle" back in the muscle car. The acceleration is awesome, when the supercharger lights up you better hold on. When crusin you get the benefit of the progressive springs and think you are in luxury car. Drop down a gear or two and punch it and instantly you are in a race car. Dosent get any better. Thanks Ford, pride in ownership just went up to a "10".
