Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Not what you would expect - 2005 Ford Mustang
By disappointment - July 23 - 12:47 pmI own a V6 hardtop coupe. Its a beautiful dirt color with black racing stripes. The horse power stinks. 4.0L and only 210hp. I also have a Nissan 350z thats a 3.5L V6. It puts out 300HP stock. My Mustang is flawless in style and looks but I am very disappointed in the performance.

Amazing package - 2005 Ford Mustang
By rt - July 13 - 12:17 pmI have the 2005 Mustang Deluxe and have been amazed with the car. The handling, looks/style, performance and most of all, the great highway gas mileage. I get about 32 miles to the gallon on the highway which is very satisfactory. I have owned many cars since the 1960s and never have I had so many people of all ages compliment my car like this 05 Mustang. The trunk is roomy, the handling and improved driver positioning is so much better than the 02 Mustang I had.

eye magnet - 2005 Ford Mustang
By jim swisher - July 9 - 7:46 amI sold off my 76 Corvette for the 05 Ford Mustang convertible. It is a true sports car with a back seat and a trunk. Though a little tight, its more than i had before. Ford finally got the looks right. the Mustang II look is over. This is straight out of the Sixties! The 4.0L/210 h.p. pulls good with the 5 speed transmission. Iif you can afford $6.00 more per fill up go 4.6L/300 hp, youll get an extra muffler too). Well built and handles well for stock suspension. Im impressed. Go test drive one for yourself.

Jasons 2005 Mustang GT Premium Coupe - 2005 Ford Mustang
By JHN1976 - July 7 - 12:13 amThis car is awesome. Its like "whoa!" Its a drastic improvement over both of my prior Mustangs (2000 & 2003 models). It doesnt even compare to either of them. Theres so much room inside. The retro exterior styling is a definite head-turner. The rev of the engine puts a smile on my face. The screech of the tires as I go "zoom" makes my heart race. I feel like a kid with a new toy in my Stang. I think Id live in my car if I could figure out how to permanently install my computer in it.

Best car Ive owned, thats saying a lot - 2005 Ford Mustang
By jtmears - July 6 - 12:00 am1.5 years, 26k miles and I LOVE this car! Cruises like a BMW 540i and sounds way more cool! Handling is as good as a solid axle can get. Retro interior is comfortable and looks great. Good quality leather, although the plastics could use improvement. Shaker 1000 kicks butt for a stock system. Build quality is good for the price range and greatly improved over the older Mustangs (this makes #5 for me). Its not quite as fast or torquey as my LS1 Trans-Am, but WAY better quality. Has only been to the shop once for something very minor. Gas mileage leaves a little to be desired, but I would have bought a Honda or something if I cared about that. SWEET CAR!

Still love It - 2005 Ford Mustang
By linda - June 14 - 6:15 pmStill loving this car. Handles great, looks great. Still an eye turner after 18 months. Went from an Escalade to the Mustang (what a dichotomy) and have not regretted it. I usually get a new car every 2 years but the Mustang I plan to keep. Have not gotten tired of it yet. I believe Ford designers really did the job right this time.
