Overview & Reviews
The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

This is my first and last Mustang - 2005 Ford Mustang
By nest - February 18 - 1:00 amIt is not a performance car. It is very slow at the start and feels very heavy it has "no" traction control though they claim it has ( I wonder do they really understand what that is) drivers seat is very uncomfortable for longer rides visibility is very poor a heating system takes forever to clear the back window and side mirrors (and it turns itself off in just a few minutes) the AC unit stinks because the engine heats the interior greatly the sound system is junk probably in all respects the cup holders location is useless if you have a stick glove compartment is a joke and mileage (WOW) 12.5 per gallon(city and freeway) - thats a scam.Think twice.

BOOORRRIIINNNGGG! - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Zander - February 17 - 11:59 amThis has got to be the most boring car I have ever owned. The inside is disgusting! Worse design I have ever seen in a car. It looks like something from the 70s with no form. Everything is just flat and boring. As for driving... the horse power is ok. With some aftermarket mods you can make it handle and move a lot better. Its better than the old mustang but no where near European or Japanese sports cars. Still cant take corners at anything like the speed a car like this should. Outside design is cool but doesnt make up for the rest of the car. Problems several electrical connections werent connected in the factory. Wheel and tire problems with shuddering, replaced O2 sensor already.

Junk - 2005 Ford Mustang
By jimbo - January 27 - 5:41 pmI have always bought Fords, but this one is junk. I garage and care for my car. Serviced only through Ford, I do not beat on this thing and for some unknown reason: 1) The battery dies 2) Car decides to stop running 3) Brakes lock up. My next car is a Toyota. If Ford goes belly up after 5 years, they brought it on themselves.

Fun while it lasted - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Chris - January 7 - 10:23 amHad this car for 2 years. Many problems started developing after one year. One was the fuel gage...Id fill the tank all the way and the gauge showed zero then went to full and back and fourth a few different times. Then the battery died leaving me stranded at work. At least thats what Ford said it was...it turned out to be the alternator which left me stranded again! And the list goes on. The car was fun, everyone seemed to like it, but the same old Ford issues kept coming back to annoy me.

beautiful automobile - 2005 Ford Mustang
By parker jones - December 22 - 10:00 amThe 2005 mustang is the most awesome car i have ever driven. The power is right there whenever you need it. The final drive ratio of 3:55 is just bad ass! Close gear ratio is unbelievable. Ford has done a outstanding job with this one. If any one is thinking of buying one do it now or if your local ford dealer doesnt have one put it your order now! you will be more than happy with it, you dont have to drive it before buying it.

Tell Your Wife - 2005 Ford Mustang
By Schatzie - December 19 - 5:16 amBe sure to tell your wife to adjust the seat so she can depress the clutch all the way to floor for each shift and for starting car. Frantic call #(1) "Car wont start" Frantic call #(2) "Rear windows are down and I do not know how to make them go up. Frantic call #(3) overhead light wont go off and rear windows are down again. Explained the lights will go off automatically after you exit the door and showed her the little buttons to turn off/on individual lights. Also explained button that makes top go up and down and if pushed will make rear windows go down. Why didnt I tell her before? I had to sell the 5 speed and thought the A/C and rear defrost and electric seats was a success.

Dream Car - 2005 Ford Mustang
By LUNAGLO - November 28 - 3:39 pmAfter 19 months, this car is still the one I have always dreamed of. I knew I was going to buy one as soon as I started reading articles about it a year before it came out. I still get looks and positive comments all the time. I am glad I went for the GT instead of the V6 because it truly has the Mustang "roar". The stability is fantastic and it feels like it glides from lane to lane. I added an "Airhog" air filter and I now get 34 mpg average, which is fantastic for a V8. I love the pick up when merging or turning into traffic. It is also quite roomy for a 2 door. At age 60 and female, this is my first "status" car and I hope to own it for the rest of my driving days.

So Boss - 2005 Ford Mustang
By SOBOSS - November 27 - 6:10 amI have added a few mods, lowering springs, Kuhmo 255/50/WR17 tires, shorty headers, SCT Flash, Cold Air, under drive pulley. Dynod out at 301 RWHP and 312 RWTQ and that is prior to the headers; at the flywheel about 350HP. I was going to go the super charger route but I dont feel its worth it. Im going to replace the charge motion plates which should get me 375HP. This is the best Stang Ive owned, Ive had a 68 Shelby GT350, 69 Boss 302, 73 Mach1 with 4V Heads and 01 GT.
