The 2005 Ford Mustang is completely redesigned.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a solid axle suspension can get, slick retro interior, much improved cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support.

Be sure to tell your wife to adjust the seat so she can depress the clutch all the way to floor for each shift and for starting car. Frantic call #(1) "Car wont start" Frantic call #(2) "Rear windows are down and I do not know how to make them go up. Frantic call #(3) overhead light wont go off and rear windows are down again. Explained the lights will go off automatically after you exit the door and showed her the little buttons to turn off/on individual lights. Also explained button that makes top go up and down and if pushed will make rear windows go down. Why didnt I tell her before? I had to sell the 5 speed and thought the A/C and rear defrost and electric seats was a success.

After 19 months, this car is still the one I have always dreamed of. I knew I was going to buy one as soon as I started reading articles about it a year before it came out. I still get looks and positive comments all the time. I am glad I went for the GT instead of the V6 because it truly has the Mustang "roar". The stability is fantastic and it feels like it glides from lane to lane. I added an "Airhog" air filter and I now get 34 mpg average, which is fantastic for a V8. I love the pick up when merging or turning into traffic. It is also quite roomy for a 2 door. At age 60 and female, this is my first "status" car and I hope to own it for the rest of my driving days.

Everywhere I go people are twisting their necks like rubber ducks; even the young kids are giving me the thumbs up. Great job Ford.

I have added a few mods, lowering springs, Kuhmo 255/50/WR17 tires, shorty headers, SCT Flash, Cold Air, under drive pulley. Dynod out at 301 RWHP and 312 RWTQ and that is prior to the headers; at the flywheel about 350HP. I was going to go the super charger route but I dont feel its worth it. Im going to replace the charge motion plates which should get me 375HP. This is the best Stang Ive owned, Ive had a 68 Shelby GT350, 69 Boss 302, 73 Mach1 with 4V Heads and 01 GT.

  • More fun to drive than my Z4 - 2005 Ford Mustang

This car is more fun to drive than my Z4. You must sit up close to the wheel as the cockpit calls to you to saying, "take control". I am not kiddding, this car is a blast and the Shaker 500 is awsome. Thank you Ford for bringing this value to the market. And anyone in So California, Villa Ford has no mark ups!

I love the new design. I like how Ford included features from the 60s into the 2005 new design. My favorite car of the year. Thank you for making such a wonderful ride!

Finally a worthy successor to 65-70 cars. After 500 miles, I grade it this way: A+, appearance, interior; A, performance, handling, comfort; B+ ergonomics; C-, ride quality. Cant drive it or look at it w/o smiling.

  • I love my 05 Mustang! - 2005 Ford Mustang

Just turned 1,000 miles on my 05 V6 Mustang. Acceleration and braking are great, as is the 5-speed auto trans. The car is very responsive and controllable, but the rear end can scoot sideways on you a bit when cornering fast on rough pavement. The solid rear axle handles differently then independent suspension, but the car is a blast to drive. The sound of the engine/exhaust is deep and so nice you will keep the radio off. The interior is comfortable and very cool looking. I highly recommend the interior upgrade package. The extra chrome, computer, gauges, My Color, and skid plates are worth twice the upgrade cost. The engineering and build quality of this vehicle is outstanding.

  • Best car I have ever owned! - 2005 Ford Mustang

I have never spoken with more strangers or had more people talk cars with me than when I started driving this 05 Mustang GT convertible last year. It has called for so much attention because of its incredible beauty! It has awesome power and iI never fear pulling out at intersections anymore because NOW I KNOW I can make the turn without getting in someones way. I GO! "She goes!" Entering and exiting military posts has guards drooling over this gorgeous retro Stang. With the top down, folks pull up beside me and start chatting about it. I just wish I had bought this earlier in the year to enjoy it longer!

  • Hey did you just see that? - 2005 Ford Mustang
    By -

The title refers to what people are doing when i pass by. Everyone is pointing and asking and stopping me at gas stations and man it feels great. I love this car. The thing performs almost as good as my old 95 GT. An intake & exhaust will come shortly after break in. Not that the stock exhaust doesnt sound great man it almost sounds like an older stock GT. You will definitly be happy if you choose this car over an import. REAR WHEEL DRIVE who could ask for more!
