Heavily updated is the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, which makes 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque thanks to the addition of an Eaton supercharger. A new six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a 3.55 rear axle ratio. Larger wheels and tires come standard, along with stiffer springs and a tubular cross brace. Cobra convertibles have a cloth top, while both cars get new seats with upgraded leather and suede upholstery. A limited-production Mach 1 model arrives later in the year with a massaged 4.6-liter V8 engine making at least 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, a functional shaker hood with ram-air scoop, black striping, unique leather seating and retro-design Magnum 500 alloy wheels, and, of course, a Mach 460 audio system. Mach 1 can be ordered in a variety of colors with either a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Mustang Bullitt before it, the Mach 1 comes with a lowered, retuned suspension and additional frame rail connectors for a stiffer body. Large 13-inch Brembo front rotors and upgraded calipers are standard.

Standard V6 and V8 GT models change little for 2003. A V6 Pony Package includes 16-inch polished alloy wheels and the GT's scooped hood. All V6 models get a new hood design, and four new colors debut.

  I got out of a old mans car and got into the GT and I get alot more attention than I ever did. The factory exhaust is loud and impressive!! This is for a single guy/girl by all means!! Asked strangers who had one before I purchased and all said it is a 10+++

  This is simply the most satisfying car Ive ever driven. Its hard to believe how much performance for the dollar you get with this car and I can take my family out to enjoy a cruise with the top down. There isnt another car that can do what this car does for less than twice the cost.

  This is the 4th Mustang Ive owned since 1982.... dont want to drive anything else. I am a 50 yr old female... I have a great time just driving it... and mine is Bright RED so it attracts a lot of attention....

  Fun to drive. Economical purchase, and great fuel economy. Have added flowmasters, MAF, and 75mm throttle body. Car hauls, and still gets 22+ miles per gallon. Fun, fun, fun.

  Smoking my tires as I left the dealership I felt no regret whatsoever purchasing the dream car. It comes stock with a beautiful body but the exhaust did need some help so I put flowmasters on it. The sound system was great and the MP3 was very nice :o)~ I do encourage SVT to make it standard or an option to have the Mach 1000 in the Cobra as opposed to standard Mach 460 (which is still very nice).

  I thought the Mustang name had more to do with a rivilry with the Camaros,and Corvettes.I bought the car with racing in mind. So when I brought it to the track no one with these would race.I only hope there are more Mustangs that want to race then Chevy products.

  My car handles so well. It is a joy to get up for work in the morning just to start her up. My favorite part of my trip home from work is going from a dead stop at a four way to taking her thru the gears on a S-curve from 0 to 75. Its the little pleasures in life....

  Simply the best, I have driven other sports cars before like the camaro whichs looks bad and is toooo pointy in the front, the firebird, which is nice but i dont like the seats or the inside, the Acura RSX type S is nice but to import like. None of them compare to the look, the feel and everything about the Mustang.
