This Year's Model Updates:

More features are added to the 2008 Ford Mustang. This includes standard front seat side airbags, available xenon headlights and, for the V6 models, 18-inch alloy wheels. Those who have a thing for pink should be thrilled with the new Warriors in Pink package that provides their ride with that color's accents inside and out. Sales of this package also help support the Susan G. Komen cancer charity.

Pros:
  • Powerful performance in V8 versions, eye-catching retro styling inside and out, friendly ergonomics.
Cons:
  • Stability control not available, dollar store interior plastics, seats lack sufficient lateral support for enthusiastic driving.

  • V6 Premium w/Pony Package Review - 2008 Ford Mustang
    By -

Purchased a V6 Premium Mustang w/Pony Package and the 5spd auto with 84k to replace the wifes Pontiac G5 GT that gave us nothing but problems. The car is in great condition for the year and the miles on the vehicle. The car is mechanically sound and in great physical condition. The Mustang has already done its duty by keeping the wife safe when she hit a patch of black ice. The car sustained basically no body damage, just some rear suspension damage. Definitely satisfied with the purchase at this point having put 3,000 miles in the 4 months of ownership. The gas mileage is acceptable for the type of vehicle as we are averaging around 19 city and 24 hwy.

  • My first Mustang! - 2008 Ford Mustang

Ive always wanted to own a muscle car and Mustangs always seemed to intrigue me the most. I didnt have much knowledge about automotive performance before I bought this car, I shouldve done more research but I do not regret my purchase. This car is VERY fun to drive on the street. I know 300 horsepower isnt much in todays standards but dont let that number fool you. The car does still pack a punch. Gas isnt so bad either, of course when buying a car like this that shouldnt really matter. I average about 19mpg. Ride quality is decent but not horrible. The seats are nice and comfortable which is a plus. Bottom line, the car is nice and extremely fun to drive!

I bought my 2008 V6 in 2010 with 60,000 miles on the car. The guy before me must have really abused the car because the clutch was gone and the tranny completely gone. I had the clutch replaced with a spec stage2 clutch and a new T-5 tranny and the thing runs like new. I recently lowered the car on eibach springs, and their pro damper shocks and struts.I have a 91 octane tune, K&N Cool air intake, BBK throttle body spacer, 18in AMR wheels from american muscle, Straightpipes exhaust dual conversion, Pypes X pipe, Steeda throttle body spacer. I had Super Snake Stripes painted and the Raxiom Sequential tail lights. Its become my own project car. Overall fantastic car. Its well fast enough:]

  • Good Car - 2008 Ford Mustang

i have driven my 2008 mustang GT for 20,000 miles so far i have had no problems. i expected more acceleration but these mustangs will put you back in your seat much better than the V6. I like the interior much better than the previous 99-04 model. the seats are a bit uncomfortable especially on long trips. the back seat looks very uncomfortable but actually is ok.

  • Very enjoyable - 2008 Ford Mustang

I love my GT/CS. The performance is very exciting and the 4.6 does a nice job to really get this car moving. I have an auto and its no slug, it will get up and move when you want it to. The drop top is a very nice feature. Easy to operate and fairly quick to raise/lower. Due to the live rear axle you can experience some drivability issues when pushing the car around a turn with bumps in the road, not enough for me to really consider it not drivable when pushed. I have the shaker 500 and its loud enough to hear with the top down while driving 80. For MPG you can get good numbers if you are being very good. Top down 18/24 and up 20/25. You can have a new car with just a few mods, enjoy!

  • My 4th Mustang - 2008 Ford Mustang

4th Mustang, 1st V6, disappointing fuel mileage, my 4.6 got better. Big improvement interior and exterior from previous design, fit and finish much better also. Looking forward to trading on a 2011 with the 3.7 L v6.

  • Faster Than a Speeding Bullitt - 2008 Ford Mustang
    By -

Purchased this 2008 Bullitt in January 2009 at Ford employee pricing plus $2000 rebate. The exhaust note on this car is incredible- every time I start it I feel like an 8 year old who just stole the keys to the Batmobile. Edmunds review of this car lauds the shifter, they werent kidding- incredibly smooth. Fantastic seats, great appearance. Fuel economy is poor in town given the low gearing but Ive averaged 25+ at steady 75 mph on the highway.

  • I LOVE THIS CAR - 2008 Ford Mustang
    By -

My car has the shaker stereo, leather, etc. I was surprised that the Radial T/As it came with stunk - got rid of those tires and replaced them with some hot Falkens - now it handles GREAT. It is really just a two seater tho - dont really know why Ford had to design the rear seat with the back practically straight up but it makes sitting back there a painful experience if more than a couple blocks. The front seats are great - and LOTS of leg room. You can see the seams in some of the plastics which detracts from an otherwise well executed interior design. I bought the V6 thinking it would get better mileage - I shoulda got the 8 I think it mighta got better mileage.

  • American Car that is a kick to drive - 2008 Ford Mustang
    By -

This car does more than expected for the price. The 300 horses give a fun launch from a stop and provide pretty good high speed acceleration. Floor this car at 100mph and in seconds you are at speeds you shouldnt be doing - not that you should have been doing 100mph in the first place. But, the car performs well at high speed. What really impressed me was the ability to take corners with this car. This car eats turns for breakfast and you would have to spend a lot more money to equal the handling of this car. Now is the car comfortable hitting potholes? No, and it wasnt meant to be. So, if you want above average power and looks for a fairly low price this is a good choice.
