  • Follow-up on gas milage after 1,000 miles - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

14.5mpg back and forth to work 1 1/2 miles each way. Down a hill there, up a hill back. Also, cold here, let car warm up until tach drops below 1,000 rpms before engaging transmission. 30s on back roads, and highway. Not unhappy with car, just surprised. Very satisfying car to drive. Beautiful to look at. Solid. Enjoyable. Engine winds out with a performance-oriented sound. Auto trans well suited to 2.5l engine. Winds out right to redline.

  • Favorite vehicle I have owned! - 2013 Ford Fusion

Lots of people have been complaining about MPG on their new Fusion. I am getting around 24 average MPG, and live in Minnesota where it has been below zero every night since I bought the car! I went from a F150 with ecoboost to the Fusion because of the bold design, AWD, and did not have the use for the truck anymore. People need to give their new car a little more time before it starts producing the rated MPG. It doesnt happen in the first tank of gas.

  • 2013 Fusion 1.6L Ecoboost MPG - 2013 Ford Fusion

I just purchased a 2013 fusion 1.6L ecoboost that is rated at 36mpg on hwy. At best I can get 32. Took a trip to SC and back to MO and averaged 32. Ive had 5 new vehicles (none of them ford) in the past 10 years and all of them got what they said they would. How are others out there doing with their MPG-specifically the 1.6L ecoboost engine?

Hands down the best car I have ever owned or driven. I have worked in automotive advertising for over ten years, walking into showrooms of every make and always "window shopping". Never before have I purchased a vehicle for my mobile career in which I enjoy every mile. From the interface to the handling, sitting in the drivers seat, this Ford Fusion delivers. What drew me in was its sleek design and luxury muscle grill. The room in the backseat, and the extra options I did not realize I would really use or enjoy make it hard to believe Ford could price this car so affordable. Only cons are the Pings and clangs after motor shuts off (dealer said normal with 2.0 Ecoboost), no sunroof.

  • 1.6L ecoboost engine recall and fire - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

Let me begin this has been the worst car puchase of my life. I had the car a week and it got recalled in a week for engine fires Sept 7 Ford recieved a report of engine fire Sept 24th Ford recieved another report of engine fire. Oct 22 Ford recieved a report of engine fire Between Nov 8th and Nov 29 Ford recieved 5 additional On November 29th Ford issued recall 12S41 I purchase my car on 11/23. If I would of know of the issues above I would of never bought the car. Ford offered 1) 2500 Trade assist - not enogh for dealers trade casue about axtra $3000 because of taxes he should offer $4500. 2) The would make one car payement 3) ESP Warranity 75000 miles

Just picked up my 2013 Ford Fusion S last night. Traded 2011 Toyota Camry Base. Two totally different cars. Toyota was easy to live with, invisible. Not quite as reliable as I expected from a Toyota, but still not a bad car. Ford Fusion is smaller, sports sedan. Wow. Excellent build quality. Solid thunk when you close the doors, or trunk. I got white, and its a beauty. Find myself laughing when I drive it. Feel a little guilty. Havent had this much fun since I was nineteen. Home run, Ford.

  • DO NOT BUY This car with ecoboost engine - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

I bought the 1.6L turbo SE engine with the Leather package. I had the car for one week and at 200 miles the car had and engine temp error message. I then found out the next day the car has been recalled for possible fire when engine overheats. There have been 13 fires with this engine. Do not buy a turbo engine from FORD. They have major design flaws. They recalled 15000 fusions and 80000 escapes and they dont even have a fix for it. I got a loner from Budget rental who Ford is paying and Budget keeps putting holds on my CC. Up to $307 in 3 days. Budget told me they would continue to do this.

  • Fusion SE with Ecoboost FWD - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

This car is the best car I have had so far. Had the car for two weeks and the MPG is so good. I average about 28 mpg, mostly city driving, some highway. I will say I drive like a race car driver some times and I still get the 28mpg. The comfort is great, and the power is more amazing. This care is fun, great room for my family, with 2 kids that sit in the back, and trunk space is more than I need. I would recommend anyone to buy this car, Ford has really done a great job and I know this car will get better in time. Thanks Ford! Hope this helps.

  • Expected Better MPG, but is fun to drive. - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

Ive had this car about 3 weeks now, and im pretty happy overall. The suspension system allows for nice handling, and it seems more agile than the car size implies. The power is decent, but seems like it could use another 20 horses or so. I expected some turbo lag, but its really not as bad as some of the other turbos ive driven. The car looks and feels as if it should be in the luxury class and seems much better than the Altima 3.5, Camry, and Jetta that i drove. In the few 3 hour road trips ive taken (90% thruway and highway), i averaged about 24 mpg - much lower than expected. I used regular gas and drove 74 and 64 mph. This car is too fun to drive making it tough to milk for mpg.

  • Dont Believe the Estimated MPG - 2013 Ford Fusion
    By -

I have had this car for a month and bought it specifically for the mileage since I drive over 20,000 miles per year. My Jaq S-Type with V8 got 20-22 mpg, and this 4 cylinder only averages 22-24 mpg. Even on straight highway trip with no traffic, it reached 29 mpg, not the 36 advertised. Ive only reached 29 mpg once. Extremely disappointed! I see a class action in Fords future just like Hyundai and Kia just had. Dealer says it will be get better mileage after break-in period (1000 miles), but with 2100 miles on car, no change. Last tank averaged 22 mpg. I could be driving my V8 luxury car!! I rated performance low because the car doesnt get mpg it advertises!
