This Year's Model Updates:

After last year's extensive refresh, the Ford Fusion sees only detail changes involving standard features for 2011. Blind-spot mirrors and the MyKey system are standard for all trim levels, while one-touch up/down front windows, HD radio and additional power adjustments for the front seats are found on the upper trims. Other changes include a new Luxury package and a standard manual-shift feature for the six-speed automatic transmission.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, engaging handling, comfortable ride, excellent Ford Sync system, good four-cylinder fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • Button-happy center stack, raspy four-cylinder engine note, numb electric power steering on non-Sport models.

I just bought my fusion in Nov. I was so impressed by the way it drove and handled. The minute I got into the car and drove it down the street I was sold. Got a good deal. Drove it home that night. My fusion that i am proud to own. Is Gray & black int. Se sport v6 nice car. I like the way it handles rides great. Was really shock when I put in gear that it didnt know it was in drive I had to look to make sure. Fusion has my vote. Love the car. I had I Toyota which i am embarrassed to say it was a piece of junk. No more Toyota. All so took out 6 year wattanty. The car is great looking w/mag wheels/fog lamps it has a bold look to it. Love the radio. All around great car. I would advise to anyone look Ford first

After driving 2200 miles to and from Oklahoma, I can safely say the car is great. Traveling at 75, I averaged 29.6 mpg, using gas with 10% corn squeezing. Was 32 with real gas. Slowing down to 65-70, I got up to 33.5 mpg. That is based on the computer readout, not calculated by me. On the way home, we drove 1100 miles with only a couple of stops at rest areas for catnaps. The seats were always comfortable. I like the power seat back in the 2011 model. At 75 am turning about 3100 RPM, about the same as a Harley-Davidson. The car needs a taller 6th gear. But overall, I could not be happier with the Fusion. All the trunk space is usable. Luggage for 3 for a week was no problem.

  • My Best car yet! - 2011 Ford Fusion

First I would like to say that this is my 2nd Fusion- my 1st was a 08 SEL with the 3.0L. I traded that in for a 10 Mazda3. Long story short, I eventually traded that in for this Fusion. Nothing against the Mazda3, it was a good car. The biggest flaw was the interior room- too small. I just couldnt over come it. So I leased another Fusion. This time I went with the Sport trim package, Navigation, Sony system, Platinum white metallic tri-coat, just about every option less the AWD. This car is seriously fun to drive and quick! MPG is somewhat decent when considering the larger more performance inspired 3.5L. The Select-shift adds to the fun. Very comfortable and solid ride!

  • The Fusion Horrible - 2011 Ford Fusion

Cheap Cheap Cheap. Filled with plastic. Horrible Ride-you feel every crack in the road. Many, many blind spots. 20 mpg. Seats hard and uncomfortable. 2nd worse car Ive ever had (1st was a Taurus)

  • Trouble on delivery - 2011 Ford Fusion

Fender alignment, right brake caliber defective, driver side seat leather was changed, car pulls to right, alignment was made still happens Ford dealer on second opinion, I have to pay diagnostic fee $20.00, customer service no help in this matter trouble started with 26 miles now 1034 still no remedy

  • SE manual trans - 2011 Ford Fusion
    By -

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. My biggest complaint, and it aint much, is the gear spacing. At 65 Im turning 2500 RPM, where an automatic turns about 2000. Ford must have bought the trans from a different car company, and stuck it in the Fusion, with no engineering changes, other than fitment. Its a shame. Otherwise the car is quiet, rides really nice, and is very comfortable. Im very happy with the car, but with a gear change, I could be ecstatic. I can easily drive at 40 MPH in 6th with no problem. Should not be the case. Average 26 mpg around town (suburban) and have hit 36 mpg at 65 mph. Going on a 2400 mile trip next week. Will see then what it does.

  • Traded in an 05 Focus and an 03 Taurus - 2011 Ford Fusion

Ford is much improved. Nicer features carried on from the earlier models and versions - with continued improvements. Handsome and roomy interior. Rides well. A really good mid-size car. Flex-Fuel is a plus.

  • Great Car - 2011 Ford Fusion

This is a great car! Researched all the mid size cars and chose the Fusion. Glad I did. Always have been a GM man but this car just is better than the Malibu.

  • Ford has quality - 2011 Ford Fusion
    By -

This is one of many fords I have owned. I am very impressed with the quality of the fit and trim. The v6 has plenty of power yet I am getting 10 to 15% better mpg than the sticker said I would. I average 21 city and on a trip from Boise to Lake Tahoe and back I got 29.6 mpg. The ride is smooth and the 12 speaker Sony stereo is very good quality. The dealer was outstanding in every way and honest.

  • Lots to Like - 2011 Ford Fusion
    By -

I wanted a midsized sedan with a sunroof and manual transmission that was bigger than a Jetta or Civic. The Fusion is it. Plenty of room for my 65" frame. Power is adequate yet plenty of fun to drive. Smooth gear changes, but I wish 5th and 6th gear werent so close together. Shifting to 6th at 55 mph or so only drops the RPM about 200. Stereo quality is decent. I miss the dual tailpipes on the 2010 model.
