  • Really more than I expected. - 2006 Ford Fusion
    By -

We purchased this vehicle used with 22,000 miles on it and we now have 70,000 miles on it 20 months later. The only thing we have done to it so far is to consistently service it, and put a new set of tires on it. The Fusion seems to do a pretty good job of combining decent performance, handling, gas mileage, and comfort. Although it has leather, it is not very good quality and the headrests seem to be bricks covered with a little foam pading and a little more leather. Everything seems to be very easily reached and other than the steering mounted temperature adjusting button has worked without flaw. Overall, this vehicle has served us in a way that we would buy another one in a heartbeat.

  • Fun to drive, missing some key things - 2006 Ford Fusion
    By -

The 2006 Fusion is a solid car and fun to drive. Furthermore, it is really good on gas (I average 25-26 MPG mostly city driving, 32-33 MPG on the highway). I have yet to have a problem with it. Unlike other Fords I have had, it is built pretty well. The only thing I dont like about the way it drives is sometimes it feels like there is a second delay in when i hit the gas and it starts moving.

  • Poor gas mileage - 2006 Ford Fusion

Fun to drive, looks great, had lots of good comments on it. Was very road noisy on cement pavement. Tires really hum. Changed to Nito tires and much better. Gas mileage is terrible. 20MPG avg with most miles at speeds of 45 -55. Best I ever got was 24.6 on a trip all highway mileage. I do not pound the pedal so it is not driver abuse.

  • My Blue Fusion - 2006 Ford Fusion

I love the performance and handling, great pickup, almost shifts without noticing. The extras are another story, lumbar support broke at 5000 miles, sunroof leaks, brakes grab after letting off petal. Gas mileage is OK but not what stated. If you read the Fusion discussions you will see that there are many problems that need correcting. Overall I love the car but getting a little discouraged on something always going wrong. But 1st year out I guess I am one of the Beta Testers.

  • Hate My Fusion - 2006 Ford Fusion

This car is not what I was told when I bought it. If you have kids, buy another car. The price is great, but the cup holder built into the seat with cloth velour seats is crazy. I was told by the dealer to just buy seat covers. Well, guess what, there were none available anywhere for about one year. Then my car has no adequate storage inside, because it has a lot of "little" compartments, but none large enough to actually store something in, especially the glove compartment. I have owned a Ford since 1999 (SUVs) but with the cost of gas. I hate my car. The inside doors cannot be cleaned when dirtied by a seven year old. he bottom rides too low, its too long, etc. Wipers stink.

  • First Ford in Decades - 2006 Ford Fusion

We just purchased our Fusion SEL V6 last night. What a blast to drive - the number of stares we are receiving was totally unexpected. We thought it was a nice looking car but didnt think so many others would agree as well. We havent pressed it too hard (yet) but we know it can fly. What we are enjoying is the quiet ride and tight suspension. We test drove a Camry LE V6 and SE V6 and thought it OK but not great. The Fusion we thought was by far a better ride. I hope Ford has turned the corner and continues to build solid cars.

  • The Next Generation of Sedan for Ford - 2006 Ford Fusion
    By -

Being a imported car fan (VW owner) , I am quite pleased with the specs and overall feel of the V6 SEL Sedan. I think Ford just hit a new peek. Looking forward to seeing what theyve done to better this already great car in the 2008 autoshow.

  • Rear Window - 2006 Ford Fusion

Limited viewing of rear window. The safety light in the middle is too high and distracts for visibility.

  • Great car with minor flaws - 2006 Ford Fusion
    By -

Ive driven my Fusion over 20k miles and enjoy the car. However, recently I noticed that Im getting more and more paint chips and not just in the hood as expected by road debris. I have multiple chips in the hood, but also each door with no dings to suggest they were caused by a careless driver in a parking lot. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoy my car and getting 31 mpg is fantastic, but I want it to look as good as it performs and right now, thats just not the case.

  • Quite impressed - 2006 Ford Fusion

Ford has a huge winner on their hands. I cannot believe the great ride and build quality of this car. Very upscale looking interior with very well appointed materials. Very bold, tough styling go great with the quick performance and excellent ride quality and noise dampening. Absolutely HUGE rear seat room and trunk. I absolutely love this car, there are no compromises with this one. I have never been this satisfied with a new car.
