SEL I-4 5 Speed Rocks! - 2006 Ford Fusion
By Metallicat - March 13 - 3:30 amSo far, after 600 miles, I am really loving this car! The 5 speed manual is so much more fun to drive than an automatic, and the 4 cylinder is both smooth and torquey at low speeds and offers decent passing power. It drives and looks like a much more expensive car. By far the best looking Ford car in the stable. I was thinking about a Focus before I bought this car, and I am happy that I went with the Fusion. I am averaging 27mpg combined city and highway driving. It is so fun to drive that I find myself looking for excuses to go to the store just to be able to shift through the gears and enjoy the driving experience that this car offers.

Ford has finally done it - 2006 Ford Fusion
By AKLB05 - March 10 - 11:30 pmI bought Fusion SEL V6 this month and have already put 700 miles on it. All I can say is I absolutely love the car. Great styling, comfortable ride, and nice engine transmission combination. So far I have been getting 22.3 mpg in city/highway driving which isnt too bad. I only have one complaint and thats trying to backup and looking out the rearview mirror, it can be very difficult.

I went to the Chevy, Pontiac, Buick and Ford dealers with no idea what I was looking for. My criteria was: needs to be a 4-door, front wheel drive, good on gas, under $25,000. I was very disappointed to see what the Big Three have to offer in my criteria range -- until I accidentally stumbled across the Fusion. This thing is beautiful to look at, Fun to drive, and very well appointed. Ive had people ask, is it a Cadillac? I opted for the SEL with leather and just about every option (I recommend the ABS and Traction control package). The car is both luxurious and sporty at the same time. It has appeal for anyone.

By wesley - January 29 - 5:20 amThis car is fun to drive and has a great look to it. My 5 speed transmission lets me feel like i am a "speed-racer" and it handles really well. It gets great mpg on both highway and city.

An easy choice over the Acura TL - 2006 Ford Fusion

After a test drive and some internet research, it was an easy decision to purchase the V6 SEL. Not only did I get a car with comparable options, I saved over $11,000.00. So the Ford nameplate isnt an Acura - so what!
