Overview & Reviews
After last year's extensive refresh, the Ford Fusion sees only detail changes involving standard features for 2011. Blind-spot mirrors and the MyKey system are standard for all trim levels, while one-touch up/down front windows, HD radio and additional power adjustments for the front seats are found on the upper trims. Other changes include a new Luxury package and a standard manual-shift feature for the six-speed automatic transmission.
- Spacious interior, engaging handling, comfortable ride, excellent Ford Sync system, good four-cylinder fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
- Button-happy center stack, raspy four-cylinder engine note, numb electric power steering on non-Sport models.

Mysterious Problems Arise - 2011 Ford Fusion
By jsteph - August 13 - 10:02 amI have a 2011 Fusion SEL but not for long. Mysteriously it stops starting up. Ford dealer couldnt find an issue. Ford dealer called FORD in Michigan and they couldnt troubleshoot the issue either. I would not recommend purchasing this vehicle. Ive only had it for a year and a half and poured over a $1500 in repairs just this year. Not worth it, Im switching to something more reliable. Another negative: Mechanics say that the rear break design is stupid and leads to excessive replacements.

Low power poor transmission - 2011 Ford Fusion
By buddyboy59 - January 10 - 3:02 pmmade the mistake of buying the 4cyl over the 6,the 4cyl is adequate for about town, but merging on to a freeway is a white knuckle experience, trans shifts hard from 1st to second, been to dealer, supposedly fixed, same problem, comfortable ride, handles well, rotors warped at 5600 miles, not overly impressed at this point.

Fusion a disappointment - 2011 Ford Fusion
By rtbrain - August 18 - 8:13 pmI have the the SEL 2.5L 4cyl and have experienced the same sort of less than stellar gas mileage. It has almost 6800 miles on it now, about 65% of those are highway and the highest it has hit is 29mpg but the city average is only 24 mpg, a far cry from the 33 highway it claims. In addition, I think the transmission feels rough on both acceleration and deceleration and I have had it in for some braking issues that have been present since I have owned it straight off the lot. At first they told me I had warped rotors (on a brand new car) and they spun them. I made them replace them after that but it is still doing a shudder/hesitation motion when I brake. So far I have been very underwhelmed.

Bought it for the SYNC - 2011 Ford Fusion
By jb3600 - April 7 - 9:48 amI was very excited when I saw the commercials for SYNC. I love using my iPhone, and I was very excited to see that Ford promised integration with it. I couldnt be more disappointed with how poorly it works. It drops my phone all the time and the voice features stop working completely. The solutions recommended to me by Ford were to take the battery out of my car. That made it work for a week, then it crapped out again. Needless to say, this is not a working solution for me. If youre buying for the SYNC, expect to have constant problems with it with no help from Ford.
