This Year's Model Updates:

A limited-edition Harley-Davidson package debuts this year, featuring monochromatic paint, 22-inch alloys, unique trim and special leather seating. New 20-inch alloy wheels are available on FX4, Lariat and King Ranch models. Satellite radio is newly available, and traction control can be added to 2WD V8 models. Later in the model year, the crew cab can be equipped with a 6.5-foot cargo bed.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

  • 3rd Ford truck! still impressed! - 2006 Ford F-150

Im on my 3rd Ford truck. 2 Rangers, and now the F-150. Ive owned my last 2 for at least 5-7 years, and NEVER had a single problem. Ive over exceeded weight capacities, towed, hauled, even pulled trees out of the ground! This F-150 is powerful enough, sharp looking, and more comfortable than my Rangers. I can only agree with other reviews that the A/C is weak, and I live in southwest Florida. So far averaging the SAME mileage with this 5.4L as I did with my 3.0 supercab Ranger! It also has enough back seat room for the baby seat. If I have the same luck with this 5.4L, 4 door supercab as I did with my Rangers, then Im sticking with the Fords!

  • Never Again - 2006 Ford F-150

I purchased my F-150 Crew Cab 4X4 as a lease return with 26,000 miles. It was actually the SECOND F-150 that I purchased from the same dealer within two weeks as the FIRST truck had the 5.4 which blew up after TWO days. The mechanic told me that there is a problem with the 5.4 losing oil pressure to the top end. I had to get flat-bedded in off of the interstate. The second and current truck has been a nightmare. 30 days after purchase the four wheel drive crapped out and numerous 4X4 components required replacement. Within 60 days the instrument cluster digital information center stopped working. On the way to the dealer for the scheduled maintenance, the steering went.

  • Great truck but weak A/C in AZ - 2006 Ford F-150
    By -

I am really impressed with nearly all of this vehicle in first 100 miles. Interior design is SHARP and beyond comparison...but how did Ford goof up the air conditioning (2004-06 design) over prior models? Ford A/C had been ICE cold...nearly meat locker rated for years. I rated the truck as 9 over 10 under the comfort, build design and reliability due to the disappointing A/C. The drive is quiet but performance seems lacking over my 1998 model with same 5.4 engine...yet has more HP, that I cannot feel. Is it a numbers game? So far I am recommending this truck with reservations on the A/C. I hold out optimism that the A/C can be massaged a few degrees cooler.

  • Extremely Satisfied - 2006 Ford F-150

I am extremely satisfied with my new Ford SuperCab. Good gas mileage, good power, roomy and comfortable. Looks great, rides great, handles like a dream, and I feel safe. After 13 years in my Ranger it was time to move up. Our other truck is a 2005 King Ranch Super Crew. After my wife decided to drive it I just went and got my Lariat. I couldnt be happier with the exception that I really enjoy the King Ranch.

  • Great family truck - 2006 Ford F-150

Love the truck, can get family of four into w/no prob. Truck tow great, no lack of torque for hulling.

  • Not a Bad Truck - 2006 Ford F-150
    By -

I am about to return this vehicle off a lease. I have put 60000km on it. The only thing it has needed was blower motor and a new Ford symbol on the front (from rock and salt). This truck otherwise has been reliable as hell. Although it is very slow off the line. I found it pulled just as hard with the a double snowmobile trailer loaded. Very bad fuel mileage with the trailer on.

  • my truck - 2006 Ford F-150

This is my first Ford. V-6 auto is weak. Empty bed is bouncy over even small bumps. As I drive 99% of the time with an empty bed, the current suspension is not my thing. Good smooth highway ride though, and quiet. Backup sensor was worth the buck. Never buy one again with manual windows and door lock. I thought I will never lower the window but what a hassle going through the toll booth.

  • Nice job Ford! - 2006 Ford F-150

Traded in my 04 Tundra that I had been leasing to purchase the F-150. The King Ranch model could not be matched by any other truck. I had considered the Titan but found that the reliability on the Nissan was less than acceptable. The Dodge had the most horribly unstable ride (felt like I was on a boat) and the Chevy is just plain dull looking. Overall my F-150 has been a real pleasure to drive, you almost forget youre in a truck. But, when you need to pull a trailer or haul a load, the Ford performs like a champ. Not the fastest truck 0-60 (due mainly to its hefty weight) but it will pull just about anything. My biggest complaint is the ride can be bumpy at times due to a short wheelbase.

  • Gas Mileage Poor - 2006 Ford F-150
    By -

Bought the truck in Feb 06. On board computer rated gas mileage on highway at 11.4, then after 2 months moved to 13.4. Not knowing how accurate this was, I checked the mileage myself 3 times, only to see at best 12.5 MPG. This is somewhat lower than manufacturers rating for this truck. I was greatly disappointed. Had an 02 Sierra with 5.3, got over 18 MPG with it. Ride was better, seats more comfortable. Ford looks good, but mileage not satisfactory.
