Overview & Reviews
The Standard trim level is replaced by the Work trim level. XLT and Lariat models get standard four-wheel antilock brakes, and the XLT gets standard air conditioning. All SuperCab models get a fourth door and horsepower is improved for engines across the board. Option content is shuffled and simplified as Ford reduces the number of optional features.
- Near perfect interior design and materials. Four doors on the SuperCab. Improved engine output. Excellent off-road capability.

My First Ford - 1999 Ford F-150
By Bryan13 - August 25 - 2:00 amI was always a Chevrolet man until recently. I became a pretty good shade tree mechanic thanks to a 96 Silverado I had. So this time around I decided to give Ford a try. I am Very Happy I did because it has been the best riding truck I have ever owned.

Its an OK truck, not more. - 1999 Ford F-150
By PeterPan - July 3 - 2:00 amIve had the truck for 3 years now and have put over 75,000 miles on it. Ive had two mechanical problems. The first was a leaking transmission (which, by coincidence, occurred just after I had the transmission serviced at 60,000 miles), and the second was a faulty idle seloniod. I had the dealer repair the transmission leak ($300) and a local mechanic repair the idle selonoid ($130). The pickup is due for another set of tire soon. Overall Ive been pleased with the vehicle.

Love my Off-Road! - 1999 Ford F-150
By doddhawk - June 14 - 2:00 amI have a Triton 5.4L Off-Road4X4 and you wont find a better truck for the money! I use it to commute daily to work and on the rough side, I go 4- wheeling while ice-fishing and have been through the toughest(and deepest) mud holes in the outbacks of the Smokey Mountains...Ford tough is right!

Overall good truck had a few glitches - 1999 Ford F-150
By Pickem Up Ed - May 30 - 9:19 am4 speed auto tranny slips and clunks when shifting up a hill on occasion.. Replaced fuel pump, serpentine belt pulley and adjustor mechanism. Major brake issues were solved after 10 yrs. old after $2,000 spent. Heater air conditioner temperature control replaced. Had leaking rear slider window replaced. Still got original spark plugs and coils on engine. To give this truck more power and acceleration I recommend a cat back dynaflow exhaust system be installed! I love the engine sound! But I do love the ride, comfort in the cab with ample head room. I bought this truck new in Nov. 1998 for $22,000 even though I had glitches I like the truck overall I have a cap on the bed and do no towing just light hauling every now and then.

Ford F150 4wd 5.4 litre - 1999 Ford F-150
By DavetheWave - May 8 - 2:00 amI purchased this truck used with 42000 miles on it and now I have 54000 miles with very little problems. I have had to replace one coil on plug and sometimes have an injector that gets plugged but a little injector cleaner and she runs great! I love the torque of the 5.4 and the trucks rides nd tracks wel on the road. I would buy another and recommend to anyone.

What a truck! - 1999 Ford F-150
By speedr180 - April 16 - 2:00 amGreat truck, lots of power in the 4.6 liter V8, had a red truck so i got a lot of looks in it, and it was very mechanically sound with no major problems in the 80,000 miles i owned it. Got hit in the passenger side by a minivan, but nobody got hurt thanks to the high ride height and the truck took all the impact, I felt very safe in it.
