Overview & Reviews
The Standard trim level is replaced by the Work trim level. XLT and Lariat models get standard four-wheel antilock brakes, and the XLT gets standard air conditioning. All SuperCab models get a fourth door and horsepower is improved for engines across the board. Option content is shuffled and simplified as Ford reduces the number of optional features.
- Near perfect interior design and materials. Four doors on the SuperCab. Improved engine output. Excellent off-road capability.

Ford F150 4wd 5.4 litre - 1999 Ford F-150
By DavetheWave - May 8 - 2:00 amI purchased this truck used with 42000 miles on it and now I have 54000 miles with very little problems. I have had to replace one coil on plug and sometimes have an injector that gets plugged but a little injector cleaner and she runs great! I love the torque of the 5.4 and the trucks rides nd tracks wel on the road. I would buy another and recommend to anyone.

Reliable 1999 Lariat - 1999 Ford F-150
By pbos - October 14 - 2:00 amOne-owner truck. No problems to date other than a turn signal stalk replaced under warranty during the first month of driving. 5.4l engine pulls boats, etc. very well though, stock rear springs are too weak. Bed sags terribly with load of only one pallet of sod. Consider purchasing helper springs if you haul heavy loads.

better than expected - 1999 Ford F-150
By frankone1 - October 11 - 2:00 amalthough I have owned two chevrolets and one nissan p/u, I have always preferred driving cars, especially sport sedans. The F-150 has changed my view on trucks.

Good All-Around Truck - 1999 Ford F-150
By lashaw1002 - September 8 - 2:00 amPurchased used for family vehicle. Towed small fishing boat with no problems. Decent gas mileage for large truck. Very comfortable ride, interior fit and finish very good. Absolutely no mechanical problems, no repairs done in 2 1/2 years other than routine maintenance.

Air conditioning condenser POOR - 1999 Ford F-150
By jusjoseph - July 31 - 2:00 amThe vehicle drives well, hauls well, tows well. In fact the only problem is the air conditoning condenser is going on it after only 3 years. It is over the warranty so one is stuck for $1000.00 job every couple of years if you live down south. It will last longer up north. Ford hasnt returned any of my calls on this matter.

Best new vehicle Ive ever purchased - 1999 Ford F-150
By Lariat54 - April 16 - 2:00 amThere have been no major mechanical problems with this truck, only regularly scheduled maintenance required. So far it shows no signs of the door crack problems associated with these early models of the redesigned Ford F-150. Also no signs of the piston slap problems associated with these trucks.

F150XL - 1999 Ford F-150
By Skinem - March 27 - 2:00 amGood solid truck. Only 3 complaints with it thus far: VERY slow acceleration with the V6 typical Ford "phantom" wipers (electrical short in wiper stalk) and finally, poor gas mileage, but thats what you get with a little engine pulling around a large vehicle. Good all-around useful truck--very varsatile. Good daily friver and good work truck.
