  WOW!!! - 2015 Ford F-150

  This trucks 2.7L twin turbo engine roars with speed and power, its incredibly fast off the line. Considering its power the mpg its good, but in real world not great when compared to other trucks. Supposedly with the 4x4 I should be getting 19 combined, in actuality Im getting 17-18. The computer is showing close to 18.7, but when calculated manually its a mile or more less. That said, by electing the smaller engine it would matter if there was a trade off for mileage vs power, but thats not the case. Im suspecting with a custom tune the shifting would improve and the turbos performance would increase substantially. There is probably no end to what could be done in performance mods. Pros: Fast/Powerful, handles great, very roomy, good gas mileage for a truck, awesome front end look. Aluminum body reduces weight, seems tough and doesnt dent easy. Cons: Front seats not the most comfortable, plastic trim Interior, halogen lights, navigation and leather arent included until you fork out big bucks. Ford makes you pay for options other makers may include. They probably needed to give and take somewhere considering the expense they forked out for the lighter aluminum body. Ford needs a black out option, this truck is black and there is to many emblems colors on it, plus the white lettering on the tires. It weakens its appearance.

  I loved the 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro w/ custom leather, my wife said it was too small. I liked the 2015 Tundra Limited - not enough / if any? features to warrant the cost. I loved the 2015 GMC denali exterior, bad ass! The GMC interior was like walking into a 70s house with shag carpet. The 2015 F-150 - I didnt like the exterior design and started to look for the 14s. I couldnt find what I was looking for, so I test drove a 2015. Once inside, I can honestly say I was in awe. The interior of this truck was without a doubt EXACTLY what I expected a truck of this caliber. Safety features galore, comfort above and beyond, technology that out weights competition 10:1. I have massaging seats, Lane assist that keeps me from swerving, Running boards that retract when I open and close the door, Heated rear seats, My headlights are on Auto Bright and detect on coming cars so I dont have to switch from dims to brights, Adaptive Cruise Control, Turbo Engine, LED lighting... OverHead Parking Assist as if a drone is above my cab showing the entire truck surroundings front, back, both sides!!! Please ask me what else, it goes on and on. Tundras back window goes down, cool. GMC? the interior looks like my buddies 97 Grand AM. The exterior redesign has grown on me, its starting to look more like a transformer - however Im not a comic book kind of guy. Truth be told, the interior sold me so much so that I could be in a bright pink school bus and not even care. I get compliments non stop on my truck, and people really do turn their heads (maybe because its ugly, or maybe because its nice). Im ending my review here because I personally wouldnt read past this point. Please trust me in that the 2015 F-150 Platinum is hands down the best truck in its class. If you dont believe me, just go test drive one and try to bash it agains competition without bias, its impossible. Expensive? Sure, but you wouldnt be reading a review about the Platinum Trim if you couldnt get one... go get one.

  Dreadful headlamps...almost like driving by flashl - 2015 Ford F-150

  I traded my 2013 which had, what think were HID headlights...so bright...and when on at night the area lit was stunning...this truck has halogen lights...terrible, and I am being generous...for some unknown reason, Ford has decided to eliminate the HID, an replace with weak LED...this was told to me by my salesman...he is trying to find out if there is a replacement kit...I am completely disappointed with these headlamps

  Ive been a Toyota/Honda guy since 1987 because Ive always been very happy with their quality and reliability. When I started looking at a full sized pickup, however, I broadened my search to include Ford for 3 very large reasons: They have come a LONG way in the area of quality, their Ecoboost engines offer great fuel economy, and Ford did not take government bailout money. I originally wanted the SuperCrew, but it did not fit in my garage (about 4 inches too long). So, I went with the SuperCab. The major factor that won me over to the Ford over the Toyota Tundra is the gas mileage. Even at todays prices, I could not justify buying a Tundra that will not get better than 15-16 mpg (real world) on the highway. Ive now driven my 2015 2WD Ford F150 XLT for about 1500 miles. It may be a bit too early to draw any concrete conclusion, but at this point I do not think Toyota could have built a truck that is more solid or quiet than the Ford. Ive been blown away by how quiet the 2.7L twin-turbo Ecoboost engine is, and the power is more than abundant. Ride quality is pretty much what youd expect from a truck with an empty bed when going over things like railroad tracks and other bumps in the road. A bit jittery. However, when it comes to highway cruising Ive been very pleased with the smoothness of the ride. Im also very impressed with the sound deadening that Ford employed in the cab. This thing is quieter than the Toyota Avalon that I traded for it. Overall, at this point, I could scarcely be happier with my choice. This is my first ever full sized pickup. If things continue as they have, I think I can honestly say that I will be a Ford truck buyer for life. VERY impressed with the strides they have taken to produce a product with the advanced level of quality that Ive experienced in this F150.

  Past several years Ive bought a different truck every year or so. But this seems to be my favorite so far. Love the ride, fuel economy, power, and its a great looking truck.

  A Truck for those that need a real truck - 2015 Ford F-150

  This new truck is fantastic. I traded an ’09 XLT I purchased as a second vehicle four years ago to serve as a tow vehicle for a travel trailer. I rethought my situation and sold a two year old car to then make the truck the primary vehicle. I wanted a bit more upscale but lived with the XLT. Recently I purchase a 2015 F150 Lariat 4x2 with every feature minus adaptive cruise, dynamic park assist and 4x4- pretty much loaded. I am a very critical shopper and compared the competition and read the reports with the understanding that my conclusion trumps reviews or opinions. I read the recall info on all makes and the safety tests. Consumers have to be careful as there is bias in everything it seems LIKE in the safety tests I found that from the source, IIHS.org, that all pickups over the past years and present do not have all the tests performed yet they claim 4-star overall etc. except the Ford. Check the source and NOT all the safe car websites that misrepresent the facts. A quick summary of my grades on pickups that led me to the Ford: The Silverado was a nice truck but it did not appeal to design-wise. The large cut out wheel wells were overdone and showed underpinnings, etc. The Square front reminded me of a 70s vehicle. The RAM 1500 was, by reviews, a strong contender until I drove it and was strongly influenced to not selecting the eco diesel by the dealer. The reason? When he found that my towing requirements were 7000# with a tongue weight of 1000# plus scooter and camping equipment in the bed. The killer was the low max payload of 1400#. The Toyota was the last option and it was nice but sparse in feature set related to functionality. While looking it really brought the issue to the front- aside from any upscale features the truck has to do its job without being overtaxed or at its max or have a high MPG penalty. That factor alone eliminated the RAM and Tundra requiring their highest numerical ratios and biggest engines to meet the need. Then I visited the Ford dealer. The statistics told me that the supercrew had the payload capacity and tow ability but each truck I looked at was different. Finally I found a Lariat with a 3.5 ecoboost. Interestingly the 2.7 with HD payload and max tow would have met my requirements but at the max as the other brands. The 3.5 gave me some breathing room. I drove the vehicle and found it to be light footed and quiet. My 2009 was NOTHING like this. The steering was tight and required less turning. The ride, which I read “how horrible” was very comparable to the others. BTW the RAM was heavy (by 1000#) and it was felt driving it. The F-150 does have a rear end jitter over bumps BUT compared to the ’09 it is vastly improved. That, in my opinion goes with having the better ability of performing as a truck- payload and tow ratings. I came away very impressed and knew it was the one. That said, I am critical. I took delivery in the evening and found a mark like a cut in the edge of the dash on my way home. I also found an odd hard place in the center of the rear seat bottom as something had happened to the leather above a seat heater. I took it back to the dealer who is presently taking care of it. I know that each of us must shop and come to our own conclusion. I would highly suggest an F-150 as it is, in my opinion, the most capable truck with car-like features and the best mpg for the power to do what a truck is designed to do. THAT SAID, if you only plan to haul mulch or have a jet ski or small trailer item, compare the F150 Lariat 2.7 eco and Dodge Laramie eco-diesel as both seem to make good moderate-ability choices though the gas F150 does not require DEF and gets about the same mileage.

  This is a great truck. Never owned one to compare it to but buddies have them and I grew up around them so am familiar with their positives and negatives. Ride comfort is great. Technology packages work as described. My wife loves it so why would I complain. Traded in a 2013 Wrangler and the difference in hauling/towing capacity as well as ride comfort and style make this a great purchase. Not to mention I get better MPGs in my F150 than I did in my former Wrangler. The dual panel glass roof really sold me, good work there Ford. Overall I highly recommend to anyone looking for a truck. At least take one for a spin. Go for the 5.0 V8. Same if not better than TT ecoboost.

  From Tundra to F150 - 2015 Ford F-150

  In researching new trucks (after the disappointing update on the 2014 Tundra) it was hard to ignore the new F 150. On paper, it looked great and after 12,000 miles of commuting in brutal Houston traffic, towing a 21 bass boat as well as a 24 tri-toon, I have not been disappointed. The only thing I miss having owned a 2007, 2010 and 2012 Tundra 4x4 is the turning radius on the Tundra. I was concerned about the aluminum and potential damage to it. After a hail storm, I indeed had hail damage but so did the Buick and Silverado next door. Fears of the aluminum body damage are way overhyped...aluminum bodies are nothing new...just new to pickup trucks. Hail damage took a day to repair...cant even tell it was ever damaged. With the 5.0, Im averaging 18.3 mpg in combined driving. I was happy when the Tundra hit got 16 mpg on the road. Ford hit a home run with this truck...and between dropping the hammer to merge on Houston highways, hunting, fishing, hauling heavy loads and towing from boats to tractors, this is a heck of a truck.

  I recently purchased a new truck. To my dismay it was not the F150. As I test drove the other brands (Dodge, Chevy, GMC, Toyota) none of them really spoke to me. I drove an F150 with a bench seat with a straight V6 and was not impressed so the salesman asked me to try out the Lariat. All I had to do was sit in it and I was sold. I am a big guy 350+ lbs and this cabin fit like a glove. It spoke to me like no other. I was super excited and took it for a test drive. I felt the road and the bumps but the salesman told me that it was a stiff suspension because it was new and it was a 4x4. I was super excited to bring my wife with me the next day to take a test drive of the 4x2. I went to the dealer with my checkbook and title to my current truck. I was mentally prepared to pay extra above my target budget to get this truck. We took the V6 turbo 4x2 Lariat for an extended test drive of about 30 min stopping home to show the kids. The entire ride on the highway and on our newly paved side roads I kept asking my wife if she could feel the road and the bumps and the jitter but she said no it was OK. When we got back to the dealership and the salesman was parking the F150 my wife told me the ride sucked, I wasnt crazy, and her back hurt. She didnt want to say anything bad with the salesman in the truck with us. I soon realized my back hurt as well from the bumps and jostling around on smooth roads. I tried and I tried to talk myself and my wife into purchasing the F150 but we couldnt. We just could not spend that kind of $ for a ride this bad. The cost of the F150 is significantly higher locally (TX) than the other brands. We went down the road to our second choice and purchased a truck with the same feature set for less $ but I settled for it. I am happy to have a new truck after 13 years but Im not super excited. I feel I would have been more excited with the F150 if it would have just rode as good as any of the other brands. It wasnt even close. The ride is called out as the biggest con in many reviews. I am not a brand loyalist. I purchase based on features I want that I determine before I go shopping, comfort, and other professional and owner reviews. Over the last 24 years Ive owned a Dodge for 11 years and a Chevy for 13 years. I purchase to get my $ out of the vehicle and I take care of them so they last. I love the look. I love the styling. I love the cabin on the Lariat. I love the 3.5L V6 turbo and the V8. I dislike the price. I hate the ride. The ride is so bad that I could not force myself or talk myself into purchasing the vehicle. If Ford ever fixes the ride I will sell my current truck early and get one. Hopefully, by the time they fix the ride the price will be better too. Ford please fix the ride!!!!

  Why I Switched from Audi to the New F-150 - 2015 Ford F-150

  This truck is great. I recently left my 2013 Audi A6 because I was tired of the endless issues with their German technology. I loved that car, but if one thing had an issue . . . the entire car seemed to have an issue. The new F-150 accelerates like a best, has great comfort and convenience items, and feels safer driving in Southern California. The gas mileage is a little misleading. I have to make a concerted effort to stay above 15mpg in the city, but I didnt buy this truck for fuel economy. My engine is the 3.5 ecoboost and I am pretty sure the 2.7 with auto off/on lives up to the mpg hype. I think my favorite thing so far is the ease of the touchscreen SYNC system. I am a big fan of it. I dont like the on-line features though, because it often times requires calling an operator as opposed to just asking for and receiving results. Overall, if you want a new truck that has the comfort of a car, the mpg of a medium to light suv, and the power of a truck . . . I suggest the new F-150. Be aware that there may be some sticker shock, though.
