Overview & Reviews
The Standard trim level is replaced by the Work trim level. XLT and Lariat models get standard four-wheel antilock brakes, and the XLT gets standard air conditioning. All SuperCab models get a fourth door and horsepower is improved for engines across the board. Option content is shuffled and simplified as Ford reduces the number of optional features.
- Near perfect interior design and materials. Four doors on the SuperCab. Improved engine output. Excellent off-road capability.

Shays Truck - 1999 Ford F-150
By Shays Man - August 9 - 2:00 amI truly love my truck but the only thing I can think of is my upper and lower control arms are starting to pop and I think that whould have been a issue that should been handled from the factory.

Pretty fair truck - 1999 Ford F-150
By JasonCOP - May 11 - 2:00 amI love the looks I get in this truck. I only wish the performance was as awesome. Its not bad, but not as good as I thought it would be knowing Fords record for performance.

Surprises after 50.000 miles - 1999 Ford F-150
By B Scott - March 12 - 2:00 amLoved truck until recent maintenance. Anyone else believe that new rotors (deep rust pits), new headgasket and new power steering pump should ALL be required after only 4 years and 50,000 very easy (no towing, off-road etc.) miles? Wonderful vehicle turned into major disappointment.

Great Truck - 1999 Ford F-150
By RYNO369 - February 1 - 2:00 amMy ford F150 was my first vehicle, and I bought it used with 100,000 miles, and it still runs like a new one. I always know it will get me where i want to be and on time. My next truck will be the same, a more expensive model.

never stuck - 1999 Ford F-150
By brickman - October 19 - 2:00 amI have had my truck for 2 years now, & am still very pleased with it.I use it to pull trailers weighing from 1500- 8000lbs. The 4.6 with a 5-speed isnt the most powerful engine on the block, but it does okay, even when the truck is grossly overloaded. This truck is the best truck ever in the mud, with 32" mud tires it is almost unstoppable.

My First Ford - 1999 Ford F-150
By Bryan13 - August 25 - 2:00 amI was always a Chevrolet man until recently. I became a pretty good shade tree mechanic thanks to a 96 Silverado I had. So this time around I decided to give Ford a try. I am Very Happy I did because it has been the best riding truck I have ever owned.

Overall good truck had a few glitches - 1999 Ford F-150
By Pickem Up Ed - May 30 - 9:19 am4 speed auto tranny slips and clunks when shifting up a hill on occasion.. Replaced fuel pump, serpentine belt pulley and adjustor mechanism. Major brake issues were solved after 10 yrs. old after $2,000 spent. Heater air conditioner temperature control replaced. Had leaking rear slider window replaced. Still got original spark plugs and coils on engine. To give this truck more power and acceleration I recommend a cat back dynaflow exhaust system be installed! I love the engine sound! But I do love the ride, comfort in the cab with ample head room. I bought this truck new in Nov. 1998 for $22,000 even though I had glitches I like the truck overall I have a cap on the bed and do no towing just light hauling every now and then.

Good Truck, bad safety - 1999 Ford F-150
By drewjk - May 21 - 2:00 amSee IIHS 40mph offset test - very bad performance, would not buy another based on this test. Safety is bad, however drives good and is reliable Good quiet ride Great engine power Has been reliable Paint quality questionable some rattles Stereo CD player overheats and quits playing
