  • Great Family Car! - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

This is such a great family car especially if you have animals too! It is so functional. You have the convenience of a SUV with the capacity of a truck for your visits to Home Depot! You can seriously do it all with this vehicle. We are very thrilled about our purchase and wouldnt be surprised if we buy another a couple years down the line.

  • like a Lincoln/Cadillac - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Fully equipped, looks & feels of a LINCOLN or Cadillac. Luxury-Versatile- Flexible/ all the features of a great SUV & convenience of a truck. Surprised & impressed w/the drive & feel of this Ford. Great power. Silver-Birch looks Classic but Sporty. Replaced the tonneau cover cause of leaks-no problems w/ replacement. Ask for door adjustments cause of wind noise. Clicking/grinding in the front turning the wheel all the way to the right or left in turns. Other owners say the same thing. Overall good value.Back Seat equally comfortable for passengers- you dont know youre in a truck. MPG 17 city 20 hwy. Side-Steps a must for this vehicle.

  • Two Vehicles in One! - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

My husbands employer eleminated company provided cars so we traded our truck for something economical. I needed a car to haul grandchildren & grandparents and a truck for the yard work, recycle center & furniture. I traded my 2000 Maxima and the SportTrac has been a dream come true. I can do it all!

  • 2002 Sport Trac 4x4 - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I just traded in my Sport Trac 4x4 with 24,000 miles. Overall, I liked everything about the vehicle. However, I felt I should let others know that it can become very unstable at highway speeds. I nearly lost control of the truck traveling on a curve at 70 MPH on an urban freeway after hitting an uneven expansion joint. The truck ended up skipping halfway into the adjacent lane before I could regain control. Driving at highway speeds on patched pavement with potholes and during windy conditions requires two hands on the wheel to stabilize the vehicle. Driving below 60 MPH, the Sprot Trac handled fine but truck-like.

  • The Jack of all Trades Auto - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

What can I say. I love this Auto. I wanted it the first time I saw it and after test driving it I wanted it even more. It has room for 4 large men and no one is cramped in a little space. Its fun to drive for a 4,500 lb SUV/Truck. I can take long trips and take what I need on the trip ( I finaly have the room )

  • Best - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

My sport trac is the best becuae its the best of both worlds. Its a truck and an SUV. It can switch between 2x4,4x4 high, and 4x4 low. Thats great for rough roads. The sport trac compared to the avalanche(from what Ive heard about it) is better because its easier to convert and better gas milage.

  • Love it! - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

We would buy this truck all over again. I had a 1991 Explorer that finally died and we test drove all kinds of SUVs including the Explorer. When we saw the Sport Trac that was it!

  • Its cute, but . . . - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Our SportTrac is cute, but it doesnt handle well at all, and its loud and rough-running. It creaks when you turn the wheel "too far" in either direction (like when Im going through a drive- through restaurant!), the engine light constantly comes on (thankfully we got the extended warranty), and the drivers seat wont go close enough in for my comfort.

  • Love it but not a keeper - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I love the truck and how it drives... I have had more problems mecanicaly than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I am a fifty year old female and I have had many vehicles. This was the first time I have ever worn out a set of brakes at 19 thousand miles, as well as go threw to the roter. That was a quick $400 out of my pocket. The rebuilt the transmition at 15 thousand. I had to have it towed in because it left ma stranded and would not get back going.... That all started about 8 thousand miles...

  • Sport Track- Reliable tough and fun - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Great all around vehicle. 50,000 miles with no problems. 20mpg is a bit tough to take for me as a commuter, but I cant give it up.
