A 3.55 axle replaces last year's 3.27 on four-wheel drive models. A one-touch-down driver's window becomes standard on all Explorers equipped with power windows. Eddie Bauer models receive color-keyed alloy wheels. A tilt-open sunroof is now available without an option package.

  The explorer is a fun little suv. i love this thing. bought it from my sister, and its in good shape. gets 29 mpg. Just a fluke i suppose. only bad thing is the motor problems with it. recenty head gasket blew, but that was common on these explorers. and sometime mines will overheat. but other than that, GOOD JOB FORD!

  I have had mine for six months and I must say it is a fun vehicle to drive. I will however mention that these vehicles are very high maintenance. Look close before you buy.

  so far we are very happy with our explorer, the 4x4 works great! did rust a little, but other then that the body is in great shape.we havent had any mechanical problems with it. i love it!

  Purchased as a fleet vehicle for an emergency response fire/ambulance agency. The four wheel drive has been very dependable, effective and trouble free. This vehicle is used in high altitude mountainous terrain with yearly snow accumulations of over 150 inches.

  When I purchesd my exploer with 63,000 miles, I thought I wouldnt have any problems for a while. About 3 weeks after I bought it, The head gaskets went. And on top of that, that raditor went too. I have had it break down about 15 times. I get 10 to 12 miles per galon in the city and only 15 on the highway. Over all I think ford could have built a better car.
