It is a nice vehicle. The only problem I see, is they have a humming noise in the rear end, and the A/C makes a whistling noise... These items need improvements..

This 2003 Explorer is my 5th in a line. It is clearly the smoothest and best riding of them all. I purchased the Eddie Bauer edition after having 2 Limited, and I think it is more attractive.

Loveeeeeee this suv---only thing I dont like is the low gas mileage. Its a great vehicle to drive---were used to Towncars! From that to the Explorer Limited 2003 is different in comfort but much more fun to drive!! Absolutely love it!

We returned to an Explorer just recently after having a town car for a year. We have had several Explorers before and the 2003 is better than ever. We like every thing about it.

  • Fun in the sun with my Xlt sport . - 2003 Ford Explorer

Recently I upgraded to a Ford Explorer Xlt Sport from a 2000 Mustang. I have two highschool teens and the Mustang just wasnt big enough for thier busy life style. Just was never enough room for friends. We live in the Bay area and I cant begin to tell you how much fun weve had in the sporty Explorer.Sunsets are fun you can pop the back open & sit & see everything. It,s alot more comfortable with the leather bucket seats with the warmers riding to Reno too. Its definately a great family choice. It costs more in gas but it dosent even bother me because its just such a great fit for the whole family.

  • Good looks, but poor quality - 2003 Ford Explorer

No fun to drive, you allways have to correct the steering wheel. Problems: Brake peadal loose, Rear door felt loose, drivers door cannot be opened, Airbag light always on, sometime the tranmission is not shifting, rattles everywhere. Poor safety feature, no side curtain

My vehicle is new, but I love it. This is the 3rd Explorer I have owned. My friend is driving my 1993 Explorer and has well over 100K miles and no problems. Be sure to buy from a dealer that has a good reputation for service in case you need it.

  • Good, Solid SUV - 2003 Ford Explorer

This is my second Explorer. Love the extra room they gave it in the 2002 upgrade. Comfortable, serviceable vehicle that I would recommend to anyone looking for an SUV. Nothing fancy in the XLT, but still does the job. Comfortable ride - great for long trips - with plenty of storage.

  • Best Value - 2003 Ford Explorer

We test drove several SUVs, including Durango SLT. Explorer had the best ride and reliable ratings we could find. The 3rd row seat was easy for kids to get in and out.
