  We had a 2011 Explorer, and Im very pleased to say that every little thing that annoyed me in the 2011 model has been totally addressed in the 2016. Real buttons for climate controls, remote start works from more than 10 feet away, and automatic climate control works much better, for example. Im a "driver" and I enjoy a vehicle that can handle itself properly and isnt "lazy". The Sport checks all the boxes. Im very pleased with the throttle response, which is typically terrible in an automatic transmission vehicle, but it is very good in the Sport, making the explorer feel very eager. The ecoboost engine really pulls nicely, especially from 40-80+ mph. Steering response is great, and the explorer stays nice and flat in the turns. Good solid road manners over uneven surfaces. The interior is very comfortable. I love the red stitching on the black leather, looks very sporty. Fit and finish is very good. I purposely bought our Explorer without the adaptive cruise control and collision warning system, because I hated those with a passion in the 2011 we owned. Literally HATED them. Ford has nailed it with the 2016 Explorer Sport. I only have one complaint. The drivers footrest is a little cramped. Thats it. That is the ONLY thing I can think of to complain about. Its a really great vehicle.

  Very comfortable, refined, and looks great. Only have 1000 miles on it so far, but it is performing excellently.

  I have read many people saying the drivers seat is uncomfortable. I had the 1997 and 2000 Explorer - and this one is more comfortable for me. My seats even massage! I absolutely love this car. I just wish there was more cargo space in it....

  The Sport has better road feel in the steering, the engine has fantastic power, the front seats are very confortable( I am 63"), the handling for the sport is very positive for an SUV(much better than my F-150) and as good as a sedan, the fit and finish inside is great. The only thing we think needs improvement is the instrument gauges, or lack of. I would like to see more gauges like in the F-150. Overall we think this is a great vehicle.

  I bought the Base Explorer. I had the XLT Escape. I dont miss any of the features I had on the XLT. I mainly wanted a SUV that had 6 cylinders, and this came standard. I Love my new Explorer! Plenty of power, smooth ride, excellent steering. Just got back from a 6 hour there and 6 hour return trip. I have a herniated disk, and my back felt great after the long drive. My wife loves how it feels on the road, and how quiet it was inside. I averaged 25 miles to the gallon on the highway, and 18 in the city. It is very comfortable, and the sound system is great. The only thing I was disappointed with, was that I couldnt add the factory fog lamps to it. Ford should add the harness to it for those that wish to add them to it. Oh well Fords loss. I highly recommend this model to family and friends. In fact I already have.

  This is our 4th Explorer with our 1st being bought the 1st year they came out. We continue to have great experience with the Explorer and look forward to the new one being just as reliable as the previous ones.
