Overview & Reviews
The Expedition receives power-adjustable foot pedals, a rear sonar system for when the vehicle is backing up, optional side airbags, a revised center console and restyled wheels.
- Excellent interior and comfort, wide-ranging versatility, new safety features.
- Still might be too big for some garages, lack of power, on-road comfort hurts off-road capabilities.

No major problems yet and 5 yrs old! - 2000 Ford Expedition
By ExpedOwner - May 28 - 3:15 pmI really like my Expedition. I bought it with 3 miles on it and now with 110,000 miles I am still just as pleased with it. I plan to keep it as long as it runs.

Great car - 2000 Ford Expedition
By Swf - March 11 - 10:45 amThis is one of the best cars I have owned. The ride is great and even in city traffic it is good to drive. The only down fall is the air conditioning isnt as good as the old freon systems and in the south you need great air. Overall a great car.

Buy Japanese - 2000 Ford Expedition
By ME - March 4 - 5:10 amHad bought Japanese 4 times(Sentra, Sentra, Previa, Previa). Ventured & bought Ford twice (Windstar & Expedition) Uh. like...NO. If you want a reliable & high quality car, youre better off with a Japanese vehicle. Its like night & day. The quality of the interior of a Ford CANNOT compare itself to a Japanese car.

Electrical Problems - 2000 Ford Expedition
By Rob Mathis - February 15 - 12:52 pmIntermittently some accessories are staying on after the keys are removed from the vehicle running the battery dead over night. Cant always remember to shut everything off. BIG Problem. We cant rely on it! Very disappointed. Great vehicle other than that. Ford dealership cannot find a problem. So far 4 separate instances with a brand new battery.

Repair Again and Again - 2000 Ford Expedition
By Michael - December 6 - 10:50 pmHave required repeated repairs, each at a very high price. Repairs include rear oil seal 3 times, transmisssion seal, air pump, shocks and electic control for air shocks, brake cable, tie rod ends, sun roof seal and motor, and on and on. Most recent was anti-lock brake contol and pump for $1,300. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned, compounded by Fords outrageous repair costs. I will never own another Ford.

love my expedition - 2000 Ford Expedition
By dinna - August 25 - 2:00 amThis is my second expedition. Had previously leased an XLT, but the Eddie Bauer is far superior. Less roll, better handling and you gotta love those heated seats during our cold winters. I have 48000 miles and have only had to replace the brakes. The car has great get up and go getting up to highway speeds. Gas mileage is not great, but Id rather be spending money at the pumps than in a small car. Well drive this car into the ground.

Fix My Ford - 2000 Ford Expedition
By DBA - August 9 - 2:00 amPurchased brand new and has been in the Ford shop on the average twice a month. I have 85,000 miles on it and putting on the 5th set of tires. There are rotated every 3000 miles at the oil change. It has had one electical problem after another. The leather started looking worn after the first year. We have only Ford cars and trucks and this Expidition has by far been the worst.

Reliable, Comfortable Workhorse - 2000 Ford Expedition
By BoatingFan - July 23 - 2:00 amPurchased my Expy used with 80K miles to use as a tow vehicle for my boat. Ive put nearly 30K miles on her since then and other than front and rear brake jobs, Ive had her in the shop once to replace an ignition coil. Shes been very reliable. The 5.4L V8 runs strong and with the 3.55 diff. I get a respectable 19-20 mpg on the road, 15mpg when pulling the boat.I find myself driving it more because its comfortable and allows me to see the road much better than from behind the wheel of my Camry.Placement of controls are well thought out and easy to reach. Cloth seats are comfortable too. We also love the 3rd row seat, rear a/c. The lighted running boards mak
