No changes.
- Big, comfortable, and easy to drive. Good off-road, too.
- Engine does not compare to the power found in the GMC Suburban.

Definately Ford Tough - 1998 Ford Expedition
By richard o - March 19 - 2:00 amI drive my Expedition like a truck. I had a liner constructed to fit the back end with the seats down & I haul everything! It tows our 2 horse trailer without a problem. I am a avid upland bird hunter & I find it to be the perfect vehicle in the field. Dogs & passengers travel in total comfort. Ford definately did things right with this model, the new ones are just big cars

EB4wd_SweetSUV - 1998 Ford Expedition
By jekcartalk - January 5 - 2:00 amBought New 1998, Drive a mixture of Highway and City. Avg 13mpg. Kids like the car. Good handling in all types of weather. Replaced Goodyear with Michelin ltx at 65k miles. Burns a little oil. No Electrical problems ( knock on wood). Smooth transmission, brakes could be better. Above average in most respects. Pleasantly suprised for a Ford Product.

98 Expedition - 1998 Ford Expedition
By continuedfordowner - October 18 - 2:00 amPurchased in 98, put 3000+ miles first week on vacation from Dallas to Phoenix. Experienced violent cross (60mph-blowing motor homes off road) and head winds. Ran perfect in all conditions. Only one issue with brakes, which were replaced by Ford in 2000. Turns better than many cars, and better than all large SUVs. Hope my future Expedition runs as well as this one. Uses lots of gas, but its moving a large vehicle.

Good for...Everything - 1998 Ford Expedition
By Turner Johnson - June 1 - 2:00 amThis large, rugged vehicle does not really excel at any one thing. But it does everything it was designed to do.. very well. Steering response, turning circle, braking, acceleration, passenger and cargo capacity, build quality (fit and finish), safety, user-friendly design and detailing...all well above average.

Best SUV on the market - 1998 Ford Expedition
By Exped.Dave - January 15 - 2:00 amI have had several SUVs, and they always lacked in either power, performance, looks, or reliability. The Ford Expedition has not failed me in any of these areas. Great handling SUV with a lot of power and comfort.

Ford did it right!!!! - 1998 Ford Expedition
By Ford did it right!! - January 15 - 2:00 amThis is my 4th SUV and I have finally found the truck that meets my criteria of what a SUV is all about. Room, comfort, performance (off/on road), power, reliability with a great look. I live in Colorado and spend every weekend in the mountains. This truck powers our group up the mountain with our snowmobiles or boat with out any hesitation. Pleanty of room for passanges and gear. I have driven this SUV hard and it has not missed a beat. My other SUVs (Cherokee, Explorer, Toyota) all had power issues and were falling apart at 60,000 miles. I have 100,000. on my Expedition and have only changed the tires, brakes, and shocks. Great truck!
