This Year's Model Updates:

The King Ranch receives a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe, and the Limited's wood steering wheel moves to the options list.

Pros:
  • Well-thought-out interior with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings, handy fold-flat third-row seat, impressive handling for its size, great crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Poor fuel economy, V8 needs more low-end torque, some low-grade interior materials, ride gets harsh on rough roads.

  • SUV Comfort - 2006 Ford Expedition

This is my second Ford SUV. My first Ford Explorer was such a joy, I couldnt wait to afford an Expedition. Its spacious and very comfortable in seating and routine road handling. The interior is welcoming and functional. The seats are just the perfect height with just the right amount of support. The Expeditions are the better priced SUVs when considering functional useage, size, and family accommodations. Three of my family members bought Tahoes, but enjoy road trips in my Expedition better (rear seat entry/exit and seat comfort) as well as the configurations for cargo capacity over their Tahoes. Also Expedition standard features (XLT) result in a better cost.

The handling was much better than I expected, also it has a very smooth ride. I wish it had better fuel economy, but other than that a very great experience.

  • Still Love THe Room - 2006 Ford Expedition

Im still very happy with this product. This is the second one I have bought. I like the extra room. We only have to take one instead of two when we go places with all the family members. It has been dependable with no problems at all.

We wanted a family truckster and the Expedition is just what we ordered. The power third row is great (it folds flat at the touch of a button, not like hauling the 50 pound Chevy seat in and out). The Limited has all the bells and whistles we could ever ask for. It has a great turning radius for such a big ride and it actually handles better than I expected. I chose the Expedition over the Tahoe just because of the power third row, it is all about convenience.

Wow! I am surprised in how much Ive come to like the Expedition. We/I wanted the new Chevrolet Tahoe. We just couldnt pass up the 0% financing. My wife didnt really care about which one we got. I feel the Expedition offers the best bang for the buck.

Enjoying our Expedition. Smooth ride and easy to drive. Visibility is excellent considering its height. Safer than most vehicles on the road, but uses more gas than most. Getting 14.2 miles in the city, but drive 6 miles to work so not worried about gas prices. Stereo (6-disc) and DVD great for road trips. Controls for electronics on steering wheel volume, disc/station selection, fan control, etc. Third row seat more comfortable than competitors. Also 3rd row folds down when cargo space is needed, unlike other competitors which require removal. Safety was a factor in purchase. Overall great vehicle for the price.

  • Love my Expedition - 2006 Ford Expedition

Very comfortable and safe. Fuel economy is much better than reports. As much as 20 mpg on the highway (under 70 mph). Wish the back up sensors were a little more sensitive.

While getting only about 14 MPG in city, the XLT does better than predicted on the highway, with most average rates running around 20MPG (with no air conditioning running). Expect to drop 2 MPG for the air. It is comfortable and highly maneuverable on the road.

  • Finally Got It - 2006 Ford Expedition

Wanted one for a long time and finally could afford it. Love the size. Im a big guy so it is very comfortable for me. Love the sound system. Subwoofer is great. DVD player is great too. Mine is loaded. Being a big guy, the A/C & heated seats take a while to feel them working but its a nice feature. Im realistic about gas mileage. Its a big truck, what do you expect? Stock tires are TERRIBLE! BEWARE! Mine cupped at 13,000 miles! Also, theres an annoying ticking noise coming from around the moonroof. Dealer said they need to schedule a day to find it. Overall, love my truck. Wish Ford would sell with suitable tires. Im upgrading to 24" rims and tires anyway.

  • The "Kinger" Rocks - 2006 Ford Expedition

The Expedition is a solid ride, and with the King Ranch package feels like a luxury car, but with all the SUV advantages. It also has power to spare and handles really well for its size. Its a great looking vehicle!
