Overview & Reviews
Ford's full-size SUV sports changes inside and out. Outside, the Expedition looks bigger and bolder. Some of its new styling cues, such as the egg-crate grille and raised hood, are from its little brother, the Explorer. Inside you'll find fold-flat second- and third-row seats, with a power-folding option for the third row. The second row is split-40/20/40 enabling the middle section to slide forward. The Eddie Bauer package has an in-dash six-disc changer (optional on the XLT) and steering wheel-mounted stereo and climate controls, as well as an optional DVD player, navigation system and heated-cooled seats.
But the big changes are the ones you can't readily see. Underneath the skin a double-wishbone independent rear suspension system and a rack and pinion steering configuration improve road handling. AdvanceTrac stability control, along with ControlTrac four-wheel-drive system and an increased width of 1.7 inches should help keep the rubber down and the shiny side up.
- Excellent interior design and comfort, wide-ranging versatility, impressive hauling capabilities, improved handling abilities, great crash test scores.
- Slow when loaded down, drives as big as it looks, stability control only available on high-line models.

GREAT VEHICLE - 2003 Ford Expedition
By DR ALLEN - March 5 - 10:00 amI previously owned a 1997 Expedition (Eddie Bauer)had great luck. Went 120,000 miles and traded it for $12,000. Pulled a heavy 31 ft. travel trailer with it and always was dependable. So far this 2003 is great!!! Wonderful ride, smooth and quiet.

Former Skeptic - 2003 Ford Expedition
By AbbeyC - February 15 - 10:00 amI just recently purchased the new 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I have been very pleased with the vehicle. I was initially looking at the Toyota Sequoia but with the current incentives available from Ford on the Expedition its the best value around. I am very impressed with how the vehicle drives and the enhanced features.

Expedition - 2003 Ford Expedition
By Very satisfied - September 22 - 2:00 amAfter comparing to Tahoe, we found the Expedition to have a smoother ride and much more head room in 3rd row seat plus easier entry to rear. On recent trip from Arkansas to Florida, fully loaded with 4 adults and 2 children, we averaged 22 miles per gallon. Overall, we have been very pleased with the Expedition and were able to get 48 month lease for $100.00 less per month than Tahoe.

SUV that rides like a sports car - 2003 Ford Expedition
By Ford Believer - September 3 - 2:00 amI get a smile everytime I get behind the wheel. A very fun vehicle to drive. Best of both worlds (SUV/Sports car handling). Simple inside, but truly nice. Comfort room is outstanding. For the price verses other full size SUVs you cant go wrong. Well worth every dollar.

Airbags were the best - 2003 Ford Expedition
By Helicop - August 17 - 10:00 amI only owned it a month before it was totaled by a head on collision. We were stopped and the air bags deployed and saved us after God. Prior to that it was enjoyable to drive. I owned a 1999 and enjoyed it also, but the 2003 was the best. It was a real pleasure to drive. As soon as the insurance settles, I will own another.
