Overview & Reviews
A new Eddie Bauer trim level debuts. It's equipped similarly to last year's Limited trim and also includes Arizona Beige exterior trim, two-tone leather seating and available second-row captain's chairs. Limited models get as standard equipment a six-disc in-dash CD changer, new aluminum wheels, cherrywood interior trim and a reversible cargo mat. In terms of mechanical changes, a new 6.0-liter turbodiesel engine arrives mid-year with more power and efficiency, connected to an all new five-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. Why anyone would use this mammoth rig to go trail busting we have no idea, but Ford will be offering an off-road package shortly after the first of the year. Finally, all Excursions get revised front suspensions for improved ride and handling.
- Substantial passenger and cargo capacity, impressive towing ability, diesel engine option, available on-board entertainment system.
- Huge size, truck-like driving characteristics, poor fuel economy, high sticker price.

By Dr. Ken - January 31 - 2:00 amThis is our second Excursion. We love them!We have 7 kids and this is our favorite for hauling around the crew.3rd seat is most accessable of anything in its class. The load space is tops, the ride is good and the seats are great. It is heavy and doesnt get blown around, but it is tireing to steer for long distances.

2003 Excursion 6.0L - 2003 Ford Excursion
By dancon - November 26 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle because the other ones, Hummer,Suburban,Explorer, etc. have all downsized the interior room. My head hit the ceiling on almost all the other ones.

Luxury at its best - 2003 Ford Excursion
By MrC - November 7 - 2:00 amSince I bought my 2002 Ford Excursion, I love to travel in it, because of its safety rating, and comfort. It handles good, and has power to spare. The gas mileage isnt to bad for the size and weight of the vehicle. It is big enough to carry my whole family in comfort, along with anything we may want to take along. It has the power to pull most trailers without any problem. Suspension a little stiff on rough roads, but still rides good.

6.0 Diesel Works For Me - 2003 Ford Excursion
By jberg - October 30 - 2:00 amI bought my Excursion in June and have put on 8200 miles since. Most use is at 75 to 80 mph on highway trips without a trailer. On those trips, I get over 20 mpg. I have a 28 transporter which I use to haul ATVs and camp in. With the loaded trailer behind it, the mpg drops down to 11. I can pull the trailer both up and down hill as fast as I care to.
