Overview & Reviews
The Excursion is an entirely new SUV based on Ford's F-250 Super Duty truck platform. It is the largest vehicle of its type, outgunning even the Chevy Suburban in terms of overall size and interior space.
- Epic interior space, powerful engine line-up and a long list of standard equipment.
- Its HUGE, which means poor gas mileage and difficult to maneuver within city limits.

Big Boy!!! - 2000 Ford Excursion
By gambroise - November 12 - 3:03 pmThis vehicle turn heads everywhere you go. Other cars move out the way when they see you coming. You are in control all the time. You just have to remember when you are driving this vehicle that other people lives are in your hands. So you have to be alert at all times, especially when you are on the highways. Trying to find parking with this vehicle is very tough and make sure you make enough money to afford filling up the gas tank every week. Overall I think this is a great car but one has to make sure that this is not their main vehicle because using it everyday would definently put a deep hole in your pockets.

We Survived & It Lived - 2000 Ford Excursion
By Joe&Sheila - July 29 - 2:00 amAll I can say is I bought for safety and it paid off! Previous Montero owner - wife wanted a bigger SUV - so we bought the biggest. We were involved in a multi-car crash on the freeway complete with airbag deployment and NO injuries in our SUV. We trashed everyone elses car - $10K to fix the Big Black Truck - and we wont get anything else! This thing is a tank and rides/runs/looks as good as new - honestly. If you dont have one of these things - dont drive without insurance!!!

diesel the way to go - 2000 Ford Excursion
By paf01 - July 13 - 2:00 ami own two excursions a gas and a diesel ilove my diesel i get between 16.5 to 22.0 miles per galion my gas truck gets about 10.0 mpg but ive increased that by installing a k&n air filter to about 15.0 mpg the ride is nice handling great if ford made the rest of the body out of recycled bottles like they made the rear doors the truck would be lighter and tow even more and would probably use even less gas or diesel.

Good Start for Model Run - 2000 Ford Excursion
By John Kalinoski - December 1 - 2:00 amMaintenence is best left to those that deal with big diesels as there is more oil in there than any of the weekend warrior types can change easily.

The bus - 2000 Ford Excursion
By zoeedd - September 30 - 2:00 amI bought this vehicle used with 17K and have loved it. I have the v10 and my mileage is ~11 MPG, which is the same as my 1999 Dodge Ram extended cap pickup. I have three kids in car seats which I can put next to each other in the second row. I am supprised at the pickup on the freeway, my truck will jump like a rabit at 80 MPH. I have had some problems with mine New front 4*4 @ 25K, All new door locks at 60K, New front upper & lower ball joints @ 70K, plus new heated seat @ 70K. Luckily I bought a extended warranty from ford so I only have to pay $100 Ded for each item. I am looking forward to buying a 2004 model next year.

The Bus - 2000 Ford Excursion
By Kevi - July 31 - 2:00 amSince owning the bus. Have had plenty of comments from passerbys. People simply dont like this truck. I have people stare as I turn infront of them. But it is a great truck. I find it comfortable, and plenty of power. I didnt buy this truck because I was looking for fuel economy. I find it is very safe for my wife and kids. I know if they are involved in an accident, they will walk away..

LOVE IT - 2000 Ford Excursion
By wade - June 23 - 2:00 amI thoroughly enjoy driving the excursion. It is an automobile that I feel safe in and have good visibility. The Excursion for us has been great for pulling our horse trailer and for hauling the high school tennis team. Wish you would continue to make them.

Excursion - 2000 Ford Excursion
By brooks - May 18 - 2:00 amI purchased my Excursion while trading in my F-150 to tow my 21 boat and 33 camping trailer and also needed the extra room (have 4 children). I could not be more pleased with the Excursion with its towing capacity and room. My ford has the 6.8 Liter V10 and has tons of torque. The seating arangement is great. I had to pick up some items so I removed the 3rd row seat and had lots of room while still having the 2nd row available. The 3rd row seat could not be more easily removed... a quick pull on the latch and it rolls right out the back on its built in rollers. The 2nd row seats then simply fold down if more room is needed.

Love the room, comfort & power - 2000 Ford Excursion
By Spyres - November 16 - 2:00 amWe absolutely love this vehicle. With 3 kids in carseats, theres ample room for them, for us and for 3 other passengers. Even the passengers in the 3rd row seat travel in full comfort. The 3rd row seat is the best weve ever sat in with leg room for my father-in- law who is over 6 feet tall. My husband calls it my urban assault vehicle because its indestructible and he knows Im safe on the road. Though it only gets about 12 miles to the gallon, I enjoy every minute driving it.
