  • This van is the bomb! - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Weve purchased this van brand new in 2006. It has over 117,000 miles in it! Other than the interior cosmetic issues such as flimsy cup holders and shortage on the automatic windows and lights in the front- in terms of its reliability, its great as it has never left us stranded anywhere weve been! My kids grew up riding in it and we have all loved it! No transmission or engine issues so far! Were hoping to another 100,000 miles in it!

  • Wanted an SUV -- sold on this minivan - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

After years of SUV ownership due to large family size, I went to trade into a new SUV with all the huge rebates and literally stumbled upon this minivan. The color (Inferno Red) caught our attention, and as the dealership was out of not only 2005 SUvs, but 2005 everythings went for a test drive. Still got an excellent price and was able to trade out of TWO cars I was "upside down" thanks to late night, weekend shopping and a hungry salesman. I cannot believe I have never owned a Chrysler product before! The fit and finish is excellent. My neighbor just laid out almost $40K for an Odyssey with no power liftgate, stow and go seats, and only leather and a DVD more than my van. I paid $22K.

  • Wonderful Minivan - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Joy to own. A very comfortable ride, and a very versatile vehicle with Stow N Go seating. 24 MPG on trips and about 20 MPG. Captain chairs in the middle were new for us but definitely an asset. With the larger V6 we have no trouble going up most hills in overdrive. With rear air the vehicle stays cool. While we dont use the power doors and liftgate all the time but they are a great option. Even with the seats up there is a great deal of room for cargo either behind the back bench seat or in the floor area in front of the middle seat. Have had the vehicle for 8 months without any problems.

  • Nice Van for the money - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

We purchased this van new with only 6 miles on it. It has done us very well. Took it on a 1500 mile road trip and the mileage was around 23, and that is fully loaded with luggage and 6 people on board. The passenger side door failed and got a new motor. The DVD system failed and dealer replaced the complete head unit. The van is great and will buy another one. Looked at the Toyota/Honda both and the Dodge came out on top, and it is American! Power is very smooth and linear. The sunroof had a small issue and needed new motor. Seems like a lot of issues in a short time, but again a well worhty Mini-Van!

  • Growing Family - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Wow, what an upgrade from our SUV. This is out first minivan and Diamler vehicle. We looked at the Odessey, Sienna and Venture and felt the Dodge Grand Caravan offered more features per dollar than any of its competitors. We have a growing family and this car caters to our three children with space galore. Wed buy another one in a heart beat. Also the $3,500 cash back was nice.

  • Excellent overlooked choice - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Just switched from a 2005 Sienna to 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. The Caravan has much more torque making it more responsive in normal driving, brakes are far better, excellent handling. Feels like a relatively nimble mid size sedan. Surprising to look behind and see how large the interior is. Lots of open space in the cabin is great for holding stuff and allowing easy movement within the cabin. Build quality appears to be excellent. Much better choice than a Sienna. Sienna is all hype. Gas mileage on the Caravan although rated 18/25 has been better than the Sienna rated 19/26.

This vehicle is a joy to drive, but seems to use more fuel than we expected. Actual gas mileage city and highway is 16 MPG.

  • Verrrry Unreliable - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

I just traded in my van with 88K miles for a 2012 Honda CRV. This was my 3rd Dodge van and Dodge should be embarrassed by the quality. I will no longer purchase a Chrysler product. Issues: Head gasket, Water pump, Steering rack (I was told I now need anther one) Valve covers needed new seals, Tie rods on both sides, Power side doors - one does not work and the other needs replacement motor, Air Conditioning - Dodge paid for part of the repair because issue was the design with mis-matched metals that causes leaks, Van is rusting and dealer repaired under warranty but not all rust issues, ignition harness, starter - I have no more space but more issues!!

  • I like the van! - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Ive had my van now for two years and have LOVED every minute of it. It great on trips, roomy, comfortable, easy to handle. I am now, after almost 2 years to the date, running into small problems. Air conditioning blows hot air, water pump is leaking and window motor needs to be replaced. Its all under warranty. So far, its been great. It will be interesting to see what happens after the warranty. I hope it holds up.
