  • Some quirks - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Drives well. Love the Stow N Go. Power doors sometimes will not respond not enough so the dealer would think I was not crazy. Cup holders placed on sides of seats where kids can forget them and step on them thus breaking them. Floorboard creaks a bit,squeeks..whatever. The carpet in 3rd row actually looks bowed down a bit as if giving. But it drives and handles well.

  • Excellent Family Transportation - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

I started out leasing this van because of what I heard about Chryslers reliability and (at the time) corporate stability. That was 40 months ago. My lease ran out last month, and I bought the van. Why? I havent had any significant trouble with the van in 30k miles. Its overkill for a 1 person commute but it is excellent for carpooling and family vacations. When we travel (fam of 4) we put down 1/2 rear seat for the cooler. My son brings his playstation and plays it through overhead video & wireless headphones. Tip: the middle seats are much more comfortable if you put up the headrests. Noticed slight mpg bump with K&N filter. Though lower horsepower than competitors, its plenty.

This is my third Dodge GC (93, 00, 06). Each one has improved over the last. Stow away seating is great, as are electric doors. The rear seats however had to be sized down to be able to store effectively. The cushion in the front seat lacks substance and the edge folds in occasionally as one enters the vehicle. Power is good, fuel economy was as expected-20mpg on average. Added sound absorption adds to the quiet ride ove the 00. The overall ride has improved. The instrumentation is clear. The 4-way flashers are activated whenever the side doors are opened as a safety feature.

  • Rust badly! - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

Bought used in 2009 and started to rust badly around the wheel wells about a year later. It was still under warranty, so they repaired it, but it came back in the same place. They repaired it again and it came back yet again in the exact spot they "repaired." It is now out of warranty and the dealership wont return our calls. We contacted Chrysler and for the past 2 weeks, they have been "looking into it." The only other issue we have is that driver side passenger door sticks/jams upon opening. Overall, it seems to be mechanically solid. However, the rust issue is serious enough that we are looking at getting rid of it. And we will NEVER purchase a Chrysler product again.

This is our #2 Dodge Caravan. My husband bought a 2000 Dodge Caravan and loved it so much he would not let me drive it. There was a fight every time I wanted to drive it. So, when we finally got it paid for, I bought one for myself. I love it! If this one performs as well as the 2000, I will be very happy.

  • great mini van - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

I bought my Grand Caravan brand new in 06. I now have 108,000 on it. I have just replaced the radiator and a water pump about 10,000 miles ago. We had to change a sensor out at about 90,000 miles. Other than those things this van has been great. Stow and go seating is awesome. I have never been stranded in this vehicle. You will always have to replace some parts here and there but I know this caravan has many more miles to go.

  • MINE WAS JUST TOTALED AND IM MISSING IT - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

My Grand Caravan met an ungrand ending a few days ago (we were hit) and Im already searching the net for its twinkie. It was by far the best, most reliable "car" Ive driven. My only complaint would be that a sensor went out around 50,000 that would not allow one of the side doors to close with the click of the auto key. It was $350 to fix, so we made due and got used to it. I also had a problem with the turn signal that would not work, it was covered under warranty. We have five children and really liked the stowing capacity. It was also very comfortable for long trips. (I say that as a driver. 3rd seats not as comfy - but that is true with most vans.)

  • This van is the bomb! - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Weve purchased this van brand new in 2006. It has over 117,000 miles in it! Other than the interior cosmetic issues such as flimsy cup holders and shortage on the automatic windows and lights in the front- in terms of its reliability, its great as it has never left us stranded anywhere weve been! My kids grew up riding in it and we have all loved it! No transmission or engine issues so far! Were hoping to another 100,000 miles in it!

Our third Dodge Minivan. This continues to be the best designed minivan in the marketplace. Dramatic pricing discounts help ease the low- resale pain. Reliability has not been an issue for us. We enjoy the convenience front to back that this well-designed vehicle offers. Ride is quite nice, quieter than past models. Extra storage throughout is a plus.

  • Bought It Used, Feels Like New - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

Got it as from a dealer who bought it at a fleet auction. Former rental. Changed oil, and thats it. Had it for about 10,000 miles now with no problems whatsoever. The Stow N Go space versatility is tremendous, with nothing really comparable in the market. ALL THE SEATS FOLD FLAT INTO THE FLOOR. I had a 1995 Caravan and I almost killed myself moving those seats in and out for when I needed to carry stuff. I swore Id never buy another minivan until all the seats folded into the floor. Abacadabra!
