rides well and has lots of pickup. Wish the gate window opened but that is probably in the works for 2005? Pulls 26 camper trailer very well and doesnt wonder all over the road, easy to steer and control. Selected the 4X2 SLT and we are not disappointed ! with the HEMI it does a great job.

  • Limited with a HEMI? Hooray! - 2004 Dodge Durango

Just bought the Durango Limited with the HEMI: Hooray! I drove a Ford Explorer XLT and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo: neither car matches up to this SUV. The older Ford (1999) was bumpy like a truck, no third row seat, but had great storage capacity. The Jeep was so narrow that we could barely fit two full-sized people in the back seat with the child safety seat in the middle. And a tiny trunk area: two golf bags at the most and the clubs only just fit between the wheels. But this Durango? Excellent! The ride is great, the power is awesome, theres a comfortable third row and I can take my most chubby friends and relatives anywhere with the kids car seat between them! Great SUV!

Ive owned 2 Chevy Tahoes and a Trailblazer in the past, but none of them can come close to the comfort, handling, performance, or price of my new Durango. I noticed that Edmunds website doesnt list the HEMI engine as an avilable option, but believe me, it makes all the difference in the world when it comes to performance.

While I have only had it for a week, I have to say I love this car. We purchased the Limited model via the Chrysler EC program and saved $4000 plus the rebate, we got the $40k model for $32k. My biggest complaint today, the fact the door lock mechanism is located right where my elboy likes to rest while driving. Oh well...

Traded our 1998 for the 2004. Ride is much improved and so is the mileage. Did not get the HEMI and am still satisfied with engine performance. Enjoy the 6 disc CD player and love those leather seats. AWD is a nice feature too. Although I have the 4WD option I have no intention of taking this thing off road. Too nice and too pretty. Ill save the off roading for for my Jeep or ATVs. Will use 4wd to get out of the steep driveway in the winter. Power doesnt pop you head back in passing gear but it still has plenty. Got the tow package and it tows my ATVs just fine. So far so good. The styling is growing on me and the graphite grey looks sharp.

  • Love my Durango! - 2004 Dodge Durango

I was driving the normal family mini van, but decided to try the Durango. I fell in love right away. I have plenty of hauling capacity, I carry at least 2 to 5 children around and have plenty of room to go still. We chose the 3 rows of seating for the room to carry all that we want. Would recommend to any parent of children.

After thorough research, I ended up purchasing a fully loaded Durango 4X4 Limited listing at over $41,000 and paying under $32,400 excluding taxes. The vehicle looks great, rides better than my Lexus car, accelerates well and the 335 hp Hemi engine cannot be beat. Interior styling and ride are better than any GM vehicle today including the Tahoe and Surburban. The Ford Expedition is dated and too big. GMCs Denali interior is cheap looking and the Toyota 4Runner was an additional $5,000 for only a 5 passenger vehicle. Mercedes Benz has done wonders to the ride comfort and quality of the Dodge line of trucks. My hat is off to them, a former Ford man from Dallas.....

  • Move from Jeep to Durango - 2004 Dodge Durango

I had a Jeep 2001 Grand Cherokee, and i did love it expect it was to small in lodging. I was always lowering the seats to get more storage inside. I deciueded to trade it in for something bigger. I did check all the other suv on the market and thats the one i decieded to get. I have now 40 miles on it and i realy love the way it handles the road and espacialy in cornering. Now i have a seven seatter compare to 5 i had before. Now all my grandkids can fit in and no one is left behind.

Primary vehicle purchased to pull a 6,000 boat. Comfortably hauls 6 people plus gear and the hemi pulls the boat well. Fun to drive. This vehicle has character and Id buy another one.
