More power than you will need and comfort too. If you buy a vehicle like this and are concerned about fuel economy you are in the wrong market. get a mini van or a volvo. Pulls my boat like nothing else has.

I bought my Hemi brand new. loved the drive, my son loved the DVD option, yet 500 miles after my warranty ran out major problems, all the dash lights, turn signals & gauges turn off when I turn blinkers on. Good thing its a lease & I will turn back over in few months because they say nothing is wrong with it!

This is the first Chrysler product Ive ever owned, thought long and hard prior to purchasing and there just isnt anything out there that comes close to the Durango. I got the Hemi and for this size of an SUV the performance is amazing. I did encounter the small problems that come with a first year run vehicle but they were easily rectified and Im glad I went with the Durango.

  • Not Sure if I will buy a Dodge again - 2004 Dodge Durango

I had a 2000 Durango and I traded it in due to mechanical problems. I purchased my 2004 Durango. The check engine light has come on 3 times in the past two years and each time it comes on, it costs me more than $200 to fix it. I drove a Ford Expedition for 5 years and never had a single problem with it. I think I am switching back to Ford for reliability

If like me, you own/owned the well- known Durango body style, the new ones take some getting used to. Once you get over the new body style, youll be happy with the modifications...notwithstanding the MPG. I found the new model is better overall: good interior design, easy handling, great ride (you float) and fantastic sound system! Im only 53" and love being able to look down at people on the road! Like the longer wheel-base. Watch your speed, if it feels like 40, youre probably doing 60. Although I was initially reluctant, Im happy I stayed with the Durango. Thanks Anthony Ester at Covington Pike Dodge, youre an asset! Before you rule the Durango out, take the test drive

  • Its been good to me so far - 2004 Dodge Durango

Though not perfect in any single category, this is a very good SUV. I have not had one single mechanical issue with this vehicle. I do all service work myself according to the book, which I am hoping will save money in the long haul. Performance with the 4.7L V8 is good, I occasionally tow a utility trailer with various loads and it still performs admirably. Long grades at 70 MPH fully loaded are no problem. Braking is excellent for a large SUV both in feel and in braking distance. The bumpers fore and aft are thin plastic, not adequate. They are painted on the SLT and higher trim levels, which leads to very visible road rash from debris.

  • Dodge Durango ROCKS! - 2004 Dodge Durango

Had to get use to the new styling of the exterior. I do own a 2000 and 1999 D. I love the ride and the larger interior that the previous Durangos lacked.

  • windows - 2004 Dodge Durango

This is one of the worst vehicles I have owned. You cannot open the windows with other people in the car, it feels like your head is going to explode. Sometimes it feels and sounds like a helicopter is hovering you. If you are by yourself you cannot have more than 1 window open because its the same thing and for $36000. I expect a little more from a car and also this problem has been going on for at least 5 years from the reviews Ive read while researching this. Shame on Dodge this is inexcusable.

  • Great car except when refueling - 2004 Dodge Durango

My 3-year lease on my 2004 Durango SLT 4WD 4.7L will end in a couple of months. I am very happy I got this car because it is comfortable, performs good and is fun to drive. It was also very reliable - I only had one problem with a unit responsible for the reverse light which was replaced under warranty within an hour. The only problem this car has is that it is very thirsty, but I knew that when I bought it and it is quite expected from a V8 4.7 engine.
