Like its sibling, the Dakota, the Durango gets a new trim level dubbed SXT that serves as the entry-level Durango. Other improvements this year include side-curtain airbags, a five-speed automatic gearbox and an optional DVD video entertainment system.

I Love This R/T - 2002 Dodge Durango
By DodgeMan - July 8 - 2:00 amI Just traded in my 98 SLT for the R/T. I can not believe the difference between the two. If i didnt know any better i would think I was driving a sports car. It seems that this bad boy soved all the problems of the old SLT. I no longer have the constant problems with my rear breaks. I dont squeal around corners or break the rear end loose on turns. Well done.!!

By Sharon KS - June 23 - 4:33 amI love this SUV, It has a great ride, plenty of room for my 3 kids and their friends, as well as all their stuff. I have the SLT Plus model, so I have some nice extras like heated leather seats and sharp accent coloring. I was never an SUV fan before, but I am now. This car handles like a dream.

By vtzeta - July 22 - 2:00 amI purchased the Durango because of its body styling, power, and roominess. It offers tons of room for 5 adults and 1 car seat when the optional 3rd row is in position. Me and 6 of my friends took a road trip from VA to FL. It drove like a dream through mountainous terrain, rain, and snow for approx 2k miles. The only thing I dislike about the Durango is the "half" bench on the 3rd row of seats. Its not the most comfortable seat for 2k miles but for short distances it fills its purpose. With a full sized 3rd row, this would be the absolute best vehicle anyone could buy This is the best vehicle! Bravo Dodge!
