  • Few Minor Probs--wife & I fight to drive - 1999 Chrysler LHS

Our favorite car ever. Have had same probs as others here with trans sensor, oxy sensor, headolight rubber. I have gotten really good mileage though-- 27mpg local and up to 32.5 highway. This was from time of purchase to about 70K mi--now unexpectedly the mileage has dropped and only getting 25 local and 28 hwy.

  • Love the car but can tick me off - 1999 Chrysler LHS

I bought car in March 08 and I love it. Once I got in it I was in love. Get compliments all the time and is comfy with plenty of room. I have 181,653 miles on her and havent had too much go wrong with her. Yes window motors die often in this car, battery to replace stinks, washer pump has went out and had overheating issue due to bad thermostat and clog in radiator hose. Yeah the stuff irritates me but I have learned that no car is perfect and my love for my car out weighs the anger. Newer the cars are the quality gets lower. Its not just Chrysler. Ask yourself, do you love your car....if yes...then its worth fixing and keeping.

130000m on now with no reverse, heater control sometimes works and air conditioner and chrome rims leak air being the only problems. Otherwise love the car

This car is very comfortable, and fun to drive. However it has been more and more unreliable as the days go by. I have had to replace two window motors, the oil pan (leaky), and the speedometer sensor within the last six months. It has gone from a cheap, fun car to a money pit. The rubber around the headlights is falling apart, and the hood trim came flying off a few weeks ago. I am going back to Hondas/Toyotas before the snow flies, because I am scared of being stranded by the side of the road in mid-winter.

  • fun but little things cost a lot - 1999 Chrysler LHS

Great engine, good handling, nice styling, under engineered windows, engine fans, sound system speakers. Had drivers window go inoperative, tranny sensor quit, speakers fell apart, heater quit working, seat heater quick working, sensor quit, they tell me the only fix is a new $800 Seat. Yeah right, good job Chrysler.

  • Perfect American Luxury - 1999 Chrysler LHS

I absolutely love the LHS. I have owned multiple LHSs and keep coming back for more. My sister owns an LHS and I have owned three. After 10 years my 99 is still one of the best looking cars on the road. Driving this car feels like driving a much more expensive, high-end luxury vehicle. Acceleration is phenomenal considering the weight of the behemoth. Comfort is second to none, although road and wind noise is a bit sub-par. It has a few "gremlins", dash tends to split on the passenger side, door seals tend to fall, speed sensors have a history of going in this make, headlight seals like to separate and the headlight lenses tend to yellow and become milky, ect. All of these are EASY FIX!

  • Great Car - 1999 Chrysler LHS

My Chrysler LHS has been the best car I have ever had. I have had very minimal problems with this car. I bought this car used with 29,000 miles on it, now I have 115,000 miles. I have owned it for seven years and it still looks new.

  • Dont buy Chrysler (any) - 1999 Chrysler LHS

This is a beautiful car, However, at 39,000 miles the timing belt jumped off the track damaging the engine to the tune of $3000. which was out of warranty due to the year. Chrysler would do absolutely nothing. Then needed a new battery. Thats OK However, one must take off the right front wheel (addl labor cost) to install the battery! At 42,000 miles I had to replace the fan in the radiator area to the tune of $350. The front speakers on gone and the rear window no longer works. Im selling the car asap. At 44,000 miles (While it is still running ). I was told by a mechanic that at 50K miles these Chryslers begin to have all sorts of problems..

  • Last Chrysler that I expect to own - 1999 Chrysler LHS
    By -

Ive never owned a car that required more repairs than this LHS. Love the looks and comfort, but build quality is well below competitors. Here is a list of repairs since ownership: struts, window motors (twice), seat heater switch, air conditioner (twice), wheel bearings, trunk weatherstripping, front speakers, windshield wiper motor, EGR valve, cycling sound of dash motor...most were replaced under warranty. Next vehicle will be reviewed more closely for reliability...I can thank Chrysler for that!

  • Comfy plus mileage - 1999 Chrysler LHS
    By -

Car has had great reliability, except for electrical trouble w/ drivers side espress-down window feature. Mileage is still 27-28 on highway, low 20s in town. Trunk is huge. Fit & finish not good big gaps inside around doors, and door gaskets have needed re-glued. Pretty manueverable for a big car. Big blind spots to rear make backing out of parking a challenge.
