  • Love it, and love hurts! - 1999 Chrysler LHS

I love this car, I have owned many Chrysler/Dodges from 70s, 80s 90s and 00s. I currently own a 60 Dodge Charger R/T. This LHS is great but some of the problems included replacing trany at 142,000 miles but hey thats 10 years. Plenty of power for the freeway passing and dusting kids in lil toy cars like Hondas. Smooth but noisy and bumpy on bad roads, almost rides like a sports car and feels better in high speed corners than my Charger R/T. Gas mileage for me has been very poor really, about 16- 20 average. I do live in Seattle where there is nothing but hills. But love it, there is too much room! Only complaint in interior is there is no spot to pt cell phone.

This car is very comfortable, and fun to drive. However it has been more and more unreliable as the days go by. I have had to replace two window motors, the oil pan (leaky), and the speedometer sensor within the last six months. It has gone from a cheap, fun car to a money pit. The rubber around the headlights is falling apart, and the hood trim came flying off a few weeks ago. I am going back to Hondas/Toyotas before the snow flies, because I am scared of being stranded by the side of the road in mid-winter.

  • Dont buy Chrysler (any) - 1999 Chrysler LHS

This is a beautiful car, However, at 39,000 miles the timing belt jumped off the track damaging the engine to the tune of $3000. which was out of warranty due to the year. Chrysler would do absolutely nothing. Then needed a new battery. Thats OK However, one must take off the right front wheel (addl labor cost) to install the battery! At 42,000 miles I had to replace the fan in the radiator area to the tune of $350. The front speakers on gone and the rear window no longer works. Im selling the car asap. At 44,000 miles (While it is still running ). I was told by a mechanic that at 50K miles these Chryslers begin to have all sorts of problems..

I bought this car used with 19,000 miles, I now have 62,000 miles on it. I have had two power windows go out, the heater quite working ,the heated drivers seat quite working. Cruise control quite working Sway bar links, tie rods, brake work every 15,000 miles.... I have put in over $2,000 into this car in 2 1/2 years. I will never buy another Chrsyler.. beautful looking car... but terrible quality.

  • Bad Car, No Response from Manufacturer - 1999 Chrysler LHS
    By -

This car has been a problem since day one. 2 of 4 windows motors replaced. Lights interior flicker, Tires have been replaced three times, windshield replaced, security key antena replaced, ac out twice in 1 year, noise coming from side view mirrors re plalced, rubber around headlights reglued, Transmission sensor went out twice, overall a very great looking car, dealership (Brevard Chrysler) did what they could, close to a lemon, under a lease, for one more year, cant get any relief, wish I could, would get rid of this thing in a heartbeat.

  • Junk - 1999 Chrysler LHS

I have had nothing but problems out of this car. first it took 2 years to get all of the electric windows fixed and working properly. At 35000 mi the transmission went out due to the speed sensor failing.I have 56000 miles on my car and the and i just lost the A/C it appears that the Compressor has gone out. The dash board has a crack in it for no apparent reason my 33 year old truck doesnt even have a cracked dashboard. Over all the LHS has been a bad experiance it does look nice and rides comfortable when it works.

  • To many manufacturers problems - 1999 Chrysler LHS
    By -

Myself (1999 LHS) and two other owners of (300M) have experienced problems with the windows quite working, heaters quite working, transmitions have problems and the sad part about it, is that Chrysler knows about the problems and will not recall for the defects. One 300Ms heater just went out and will cost $800 to fix. We have fought with Chrysler to no avail. Shame on Chrysler, no wonder they are going down.
