This Year's Model Updates:

This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.

Pros:
  • Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

  • Put it through hell - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Have had very little problems with my TrailBlazer. I do a lot of towing, 3500lb. boat and 5000lb. travel trailer. I take it out to the woods all the time. Have recently had to replace the water pump. Still using the original brakes and only on my third set of tires. Not having any of the problems with stereo and so forth that other reviewers are discussing. I put my Trailblazer thru hell and have loved every minute of it.

I am from the UK so I had to find a car that was all in 1. Having never driven in snow I needed a good stable 4WD. This SUV is outstanding in all aspects. I am realy pleased I bought this car so I am totally recommending it to everyone that is thinking about buying one.

I like the style and the acceleration this SUV provides when pushed. The leather interior is superb!

Lots of Power, great acceleration, good turning. Have not used 4x4 yet. GM should provide compass on all the TrailBlazer mirrors, not just LT. Rear area is large, spare tire is under second seat. Mats are useless. Paint chipped in first week. Drivers side mirror on visor HAS NO COVER ON IT. Be careful, it is disorienting. Have contacted GM twice and dealer, no help. Have never seen a car with the mirror uncovered whether foreign or domestic. Is a safety hazard.

I have owned this car since new. The first time it was in the shop was 10 days after I bought it due to a "flapping" sound on the highway. It took 3 additional trips to determine that there were screws missing in the wheel well. The build quality on this car is terrible, it has been in the shop 30+ times for all manner of problems. Now I am looking to get a new car (Toyota) I find that my $30k SUV is worth almost nothing. GM has forever lost a customer with this vehicle.

This is by far the best looking SUV in its class! Great power and oohh so smooth on the Highway. Took it off road with no regrets...took on the bayou with ease. This SUV has the power, looks and spunk to take on anything domestic and overseas!!! Like a ROCK!!!

  • It must be "Buttah" - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I test drove all the TBlazers competitors and this truck rides by far the smoothest. The steering is flawless and the power is "money". The payload is roomy and you can take the gang and all their golf clubs to the course easily...not to mention fitting customers in the back seat. This is a no brainer buy.
