Overview & Reviews
This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.
- Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

Too many little problems in the 1st yr - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By oy - June 25 - 2:00 amI had a lot of little problems. The power mirrors dont go back to original setting, the right front speaker squeeks, the passenger heated seat went out several times, etc. I like the car but the 1st year models has a lot of bugs to work out.

Trailblazer has Blind Spots - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By karenfromde - June 16 - 2:00 amI love driving my Trailblazer. It is very comfortable. However, it has a definite blind spot at the rear. If you turn off the radio, the noise level from the outside is noticeable. I have had to replace rear brake/taillights repeatedly and now the a/c fan isnt working unless I put it on #4. Little things, but annoying nonetheless. Gas guzzler at times. Thinking about selling it at this point.

Rides great! - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By TBdriver - May 26 - 2:00 amI have enjoyed my Trailblazer for the past two years. No major defects or problems. Great acceleration off the line. I have had several passengers comment that the ride is very smooth. I would agree. The interior styling is not as attractive as the exterior. Inside is mostly one color plastic. Gas mileage is poor (about 16 city), but fortunately I do not rack up a lot of miles. Very easy vehicle to get in and out of (unlike the Mitsubishi Montero).

I LOVE THIS SUV! - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Lavender - May 24 - 10:00 amThis is my first experience with anything other than a "car". I have never enjoyed driving a vehicle more than this one! Its comfortable, quiet, accelerates like a dream and is reliable. At first, I had a problem with my side mirrors re-adjusting themselves at whim, but these were recalled and have since been fixed. Other than that - no problems at all. The only disappointing thing about this vehicle is the gas mileage. I drive strictly highway and average 17.0 mpg. I feel like Im always as the gas station.

Competitors shakin in their boots - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By CUFFS - April 22 - 6:03 amThe all new TrailBlazer is great. The excelleration was incredible, reaching 60+ in what seemed like nearly 8 seconds. The TrailBlazer has a smoooooth ride and stiff steering. There is little to no vibration at speeds of 90+. The wind noise at higher speeds is less than desirable but tolerable. The stereo is awesome with CD player and 8 speakers throughout.

ThisSUV is AWESOME - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By TrlBlzrLvr - March 14 - 10:00 amThis is a fun car to drive. It has a very roomy interior and it looks nice. It doesnt have any of that cheap plasticy stuff. It rides very smoothly and the inline 6 has a lot of pep. My only compaint is the engine is a little louder sounding that what Im use to.

Love it, need more room for gas - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By mmmmm - January 31 - 10:00 amIm very pleased with this one. Its fast, it will tow my 22 foot boat, and it looks gooood. Its comfortable, but could use a little bit more room in the back seat. Child seat is very hard to install in the middle because the seat is shorter, to inclined and the split between seats makes it lack support. No problem on passenger side though.

MY TRUCK IS RUSTING - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By DEPRESSED - September 19 - 10:00 amThis truck was purchased at the very end of 2001 so has now been through two Michigan winters. After only 18mos of ownership, RUST has developed along all of the doors lower, inner edge seams and along the inner underside of the hood. Rust is the equivalent of cancer in a car, almost impossible to stop once it has gotten a start. In this day & age, there is no excuse for this lapse in quality. My opinion has gone from one of joy to despair as this truck is not going to last as long as I had hoped...just more money wasted. Too bad, as this truck has been mechanically trouble free.
