Overview & Reviews
This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.
- Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

Opps We Made A Mistake - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Salchow - March 15 - 10:00 amLots of Power, great acceleration, good turning. Have not used 4x4 yet. GM should provide compass on all the TrailBlazer mirrors, not just LT. Rear area is large, spare tire is under second seat. Mats are useless. Paint chipped in first week. Drivers side mirror on visor HAS NO COVER ON IT. Be careful, it is disorienting. Have contacted GM twice and dealer, no help. Have never seen a car with the mirror uncovered whether foreign or domestic. Is a safety hazard.

Wind Noise - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By mockster - September 5 - 10:59 pmI love the power of this vehicle. I also love the "weight" of the vehicle. It feels sturdy. The cargo room is better than other SUVs I have owned. My biggest gripe and the reason I am looking to sell? Wind noise. This is the loudest vehicle I have ever driven in. It sounds like the windows are open when you get out on the highway. You cannot hear anyone from the back seat. I read reviews about the noise when I bought the vehicle but didnt realize what it really meant. I cannot drive it any longer because of this one complaint. It makes me crazy. Watch your air conditioning belt also. Mine froze up and cost $1100 to fix.

best bang for your buck - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Anonymous User - July 2 - 10:00 amIve driven all types of SUV vehicles and trucks, both foreign and domestic, and this is by far one of the best Ive ever driven. Only minor service issues thus far, such as a suspension squeak. Driving is a joy, with plenty of balanced power. The ride is very comfortable, better than a lot of passenger cars. Although gas mileage is poor, what do you expect with 270 horsepower?! Highly recommended.

02 Trailblazer - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Sterk0414 - June 14 - 6:23 pmOnce you get past the fact that you will only get a max of 16 miles per gallon youll love this truck. Its got plenty and good pick up for the size of the SUV. This was my first SUV purchase after driving only little sports cars and im not sure if I can switch back.

Good Enough for Me - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By brisk8 - May 15 - 7:44 pmOnly a few minor repairs that I had to pay for: leaking exhaust manifold, leaking cam positioning sensor, siezed water pump, tie rods, brakes and disks (only one a little out of the ordinary). Current concerns, a/c vent actuator for the dash vents and "loose" timing chain that does not concern my mechanic. Engine very reliable, powerful, and relatively efficient. Linear 6 engine is great addition to Chevy lineup. OEM tires a little weak but got over 50,000 out of replacement Bridgestones. Numerous recalls hadled by dealer (no charge). If considering buying, have all major components checked: engine, trans, differential. If they are OK, I recommend purchasing.

Just Received - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Sylver - May 14 - 10:00 amWe just received our Trailblazer LT, and are pleasantly impressed so far. Seats are high, with ample headroom, and plenty of legroom in front, while things seem a little tighter in back. Body roll is evident, and steering is seems vague, but has an excellent turning radius, and is easy to manuever. Starting power seems slightly lacking, however there is plenty of power between the 4000 to 6000 rpm range for passing and highway driving.

Nice vehicle!!! - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By GBPacker - April 21 - 10:00 amBought new. Fun to drive; impressed with smooth engine and automatic transmission. Nice height, easy in & out. Couple of minor problems with wipers/auto moisture detect. Dealer fixed, no further problems. Owned a GMC Yukon previous; nice vehicle, but the Trailblazer is great. Would definitely buy again. Drivers side rearview mirror changes position when key is removed and engine restarted.

Not in love - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By nomorebowties - March 27 - 10:00 amGreat sized vehicle. The new 6 cylinder engine is silky smooth and full of torque and power at a reasonable MPG. The handling and design quaality of this vehicle is top-notch. My hats off to Chevrolet Engineering for a great concept, design and build. Now, if you could just do something about the after- sale service offered by your dealer network. It leaves much to be desired. 3 return trips for nagging little problems that should be resolved FIRST TIME. The outside mirrors that move and dont move back, the electrical "glitch" that they cannot locate, etc, etc. I bought a fully loaded $36K vehicle, I expected no excuses, Ive had nothing but.
