Overview & Reviews
This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.
- Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

Having Fun - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By gator36 - March 2 - 6:16 amMy wife and I test drove the Envoy at a GM Truck Show in Motion. She fell in love with how it drove and handled. Compared to the Dodge Durango it was by far more quiet and had more power. With 500 miles on the odometer we love every aspect of the vehicle and would make the purchase again. I am a picky new car buyer and usually can find things to have the dealer repair right away. I am happy to say that to date I have yet to find something.

By Dixon - February 28 - 2:00 amAfter getting away from GM (2 p/us and 2 Suburbans) came back in time to get a 2002 T/B 4x4 with an excellent engine. Has not caused me any concern during first 20,000 miles....

Great SUV - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Matt Kirby - February 5 - 2:00 amI had never owned an SUV, until I wrecked my Ford Taurus. I shopped around, and test drove many cars, and absolutely fell in love with the Trailblazer. It handles very well in the city and on the highway, has great acceleration (especially from 40mph- 70mph,) and has a ton of space inside. The engine is strong and quiet, and I have not had a single problem to date (although I have only owned it for 3 months.) My only disappointment is the $25 it takes to fill it up every week, but I guess I should have seen that coming.

Response to Trailblazer by Knoxville - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By TrailblazerAtlanta - February 3 - 10:00 amI purchased my wife a LT 2Wd last year and have been nothing but pleased with vehicle. The 4.2L does produce 270HP. Frankly, I was shocked to here you say that it will not keep up with the Cherokee. I know for a fact that there is not a SUV out there that can run with the Trailblazer. I even shocked a few sports car with the Trailblazers power and speed. I suggest that you carry yours to the dealership and find out whats wrong. If Chevrolet would market and advertise the Trailblazer properly no one would buy a Explorer or a Cherokee again. CHEVROLET has a WINNER this time.

A Real TrailBlazer - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By Musky Mike - December 23 - 10:00 amThis SUV really handles my bass boat well with its four wheel disc brakes. It has plenty of pep for highway driving while towing a boat and rides like a comfortable sedan. The stereo is great to listen to while driving and it has all of the conveniences that one would expect.

would not buy again - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By distraught husband - November 24 - 10:00 amHave had numerous problems with this SUV. An annoying hum, a squeak in the front suspension (that took several trips to the dealer to repair), the wipers quit working, the A/C quit working (twice). Seems like this vehicle has been in the shop more than in my garage. Build quality is poor for a $36,000 vehicle.

best advice is to rent one first - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
By blazerlover - November 10 - 10:00 amthe "pros" do not score this suv very well, so i put it to the test myself. i rented one for 2 days, and LOVED it! it is a great vehicle. it is so smooth through every gear, every road condition, and every turn. the power is well distributed through out all 4 gears. not only that, the braking is unbelievable when i tow my boat. i was set on a durango. until i rented this vehicle to put it to MY test. it is a much better vehicle than the durango.
