This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, Chevrolet has dropped the high-line LTZ trim level. Power-adjustable pedals, a DVD-based navigation system, automatically locking doors and XM Satellite Radio are new features this year. The instrument panel now sports a freshened monochromatic look. The North Face Edition package gets unique 17-inch wheels, while all models get new 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Pros:
  • Strong engine performance, comfortable highway ride, extensive features list, user-friendly controls.
Cons:
  • Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design, low-grade interior materials.

  • Very Pleased - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Overall, very pleased with my purchase experience and the vehicles performance. This was my first time buying a new car through "Internet/Fleet" sales. Initially a bit suspicious of everyone in the building being a "Fleet sales manager." It was nice to be able to compare selling prices from multiple dealers at one time, making them compete with each other, and putting the shoe on the other foot for a change. Vehicle styling and performance generally exceed expectations. Gas mileage is a bit disappointing, but within the range of comparable models. The interior appointments are very "plastic" and tend to seem somewhat "cheap" feeling.

1700 MILES, DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MOLDING SUCKS DOWN INSIDE DOOR WHEN WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN. LOUD NOISE WHEN COOLING FAN COMES ON. MOLDING ON RIGHT REAR DOOR IS TWISTED. WEIRD DISCOLORASION ON DRIVER SIDE DOOR MIRROR.WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD NO PROBLEM FOUND FOR MOLDING AND FAN ISSUE. FOR THE MIRROR I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER I BUOGHT IT FROM.I DONT THINK THE DEALER COULD FIND THEIR BUTT WITH BOTH HANDS. CHEVY SERVICE STINKS!

  • Pretty much new - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Pretty much a new rig so I cant judge reliability accept that I havent had an issue yet. I pretty much like everything about this vehicle. I used to have a blazer and this is light years past it in terms of quality and features (but quite a bit more money).

  • Transmission/electronics problems - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I bought a 2003 EXT model. Loved the ride, but did have problems with the electronics. 4WD and washer systems had to be replaced. Still, went back and bought an 04 model. PROBLEMS! Been in 4 times with 4WD electronics problems, plus have had it fail off road. No fun being stuck in the dirt with only 2WD in this large a vehicle. Car being returned under the lemon law.

The 2003 Trailblazer is a fun and peppy vehicle to drive. I have owned both a Buick Park Avenue and a Cadillac Sedan DeVille and the Trailblazer is a comfortable as either. We affectionately call ours the "Country Cadillac."

  • Do I have a lemon? - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Our trailblazer has been back to the dealer several times for numerous reasons. The computer wouldnt reset the mirrors when I went to drive the car after my husband...the windshield wipers come on at random, just once to show us they will work should we need them...the rear door handles broke...and just last weekend it was in because the fan clutch had to be replaced. And to think weve only owned it a year. My dad has one for a company car and my aunt bought one for herself and they both have had NO problems with theirs.

I love the look of the Trailblazer and have been happy with previous Chevys. Back cargo at perfect level for loading/unlaoding. Very roomy, comfortable seating. Only problem I have had is tire pressure going low. Had blow out at 3000 miles. Gas cap needs a little work to be put on properly.

I have driven Suburbans for 30 years and have finally downsized to trailblazer. The 2004 is my second one, as I had a 2002 before. I absolutely LOVE my car! I have moved kids to and from college with room to spare and the improvements since the 2002 (easier seat collapse, seat heaters, better seatbelts, XM radio to name a few) make it a pleasure to drive! Just show me the road.

Hadan Accord, but felt I needed something larger. So far everything is great. The gas mileage could be better, but with this type of vehicle, you cant have it all. Looked at several SUVs, but they seemed to be designed for soccer moms, I wanted something more masculine looking. Towing cabability is excellent. It doesnt even know the trailer is behind it. The riding height is equal to any of the larger SUVs. Great value for the money. A GREAT improvement over the Blazer of previous years.
